职位描述

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute the processes to identify, validate and recommend suppliers that will receive Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) and possible manufacturing contracts
  • Support the Merchandise Manager in the approval of all suppliers for the defined area of responsibility
  • Participate in the creation of category sourcing strategies and program/item strategies with the Merchandise Managers and Sourcing Leaders and provide direction to branch offices
  • Lead and manage the negotiation, review and recommendation of assigned suppliers for manufacturing contracts, inclusive of cost, timing, specification/objective adherence, quality process and quantity
  • Work with assigned team to collaboratively develop suppliers to ensure complete understanding of Tar Heel Trading requirements, maintaining effective and efficient relationships
  • Build relationships with the supplier base and facilitate the escalation of issues
  • Identify and drive cross-category sourcing opportunities to drive cost leverage and manufacturing efficiency
  • Lead and execute supplier analysis and profitability evaluation
  • Gather, review and publish market intelligence to provide to THT leadership and customer category teams
  • Collaboratively work with Hong Kong Merchandise management and U.S. Global Sourcing leaders to ensure product and production requirements are communicated to and executed by suppliers
  • Closely monitor the pre-production and production WIP to ensure on-time delivery
  • Monitor and manage the complete product lifecycle timeline and address exceptions
  • Collaboratively work with other Tar Heel Trading functions (quality, logistics, finance, etc.) to identify and resolve issues / exceptions
  • Proactively review and approve supplier purchase orders for confirmed programs with contracted manufacturers
  • Manage and mentor assigned team members
  • Plan and manage market trips
  • Effectively utilize internal systems inclusive of PLM and 3rd party provided tools
  • Other duties and responsibilities as defined


Requirements

  • College or University Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years’ in equivalent position level and in managing the relevant product categories.
  • 7+ years’ experience in reputable Global (European and USA) retail chain stores, sourcing/trading company, or buying offices.
  • Intermediate to advance working knowledge of web-based product life cycle management tools, inclusive of work flow, task management, supplier/service provide collaboration and management reporting (eg PLM) is preferred.
  • Good command of Computer Knowledge (eg, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to facilitate interaction with sourcing and merchandising teams, supplier and service providers
  • Customer-focus. Result-driven. Ability to manage and mentor others.
  • Attention to details and strong analytics skills.
  • Good problem-solving & decision making skills.
  • Multi-tasking and prioritization. Ability to handle stress and work under pressure, manage and develop business exceeding target.

  • Occasional travel may be required.
