Responsibilities

• Understand business strategy; Support it with appropriate team tactics.
• Define production mission and annual goals and accept responsibility for meeting them. Coordinating production staffing and capacity to effectively meet the goals. Support and integrate team operations with any/all supporting operations (internal or external), as necessary.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members to effectively match individual development plans with business needs.
• Monitor key metrics like EHS, DOT, yields, inventory, and capacity and so on, drive/or hold accountable for area improvements as needed.
• Champion production safety, understand area safety issues, including: Hazards, Procedures, Training, Case management, Incident investigations, Audits, Corrective & preventative actions
• Be responsible for production team contribution and compensation process, providing feedback to teams and individuals regarding performance and opportunities for improvement.
• Understanding and practicing Gore culture, be able to grow as culture champion
• Develop and maintain the relationships necessary to effectively interface between production team and other functional teams within the plant.
• Drive the necessary accountability to follow these functional best practices.

• Have potential to take on broader commitment in the future.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with technical, operations or business emphasis with ten years or more of demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, experience in leading teams in a multi-national environment.
• Active communicator both with local teams as well as on a global level - ability to communicate in a variety of styles,
• Knowledge of manufacturing performance metrics and track record of continuous improvement including safety, cost, quality, on time delivery, and other plant and business objectives
• Proven record of team building / team development, including demonstrated change management and conflict resolution skills
• Open to influence, demonstrated flexibility, team player balanced by the ability to influence and gain followership while maintaining a results driven focus
• Knowledge and use of a range of technical problem solving techniques
• Creative thinking, proven record of change management and conflict resolution skills
• Follow and enforce manufacturing procedures. Willingness to challenge current thinking and organizational models and precepts.
