Description: The Portable Electronic Vents (PEV) business is seeking a Product Specialist to take the commitment of Regional Market Segment Champion for the Handset market segment. This associate will be responsible for leading the Greater China (incl. Taiwan and Hong Kong) market segment team. This market segment is rapidly changing and we are anticipating significant growth over the next 5 years. Keys to success include: 1) Understanding the customer needs and competitive landscape in the region; 2) driving the development and implementation of an appropriate business plan; 3) Leading the successful market launch and positioning of new products; 4) be the passionate champion within the team for developing ideas for innovative new products and offerings that are valued by our customers. 5) Partnering with global sales, technical, operations, and quality associates to assure customer requirements are consistently met is core to this commitment. By working with the PEV Handset segment team, the associate will contribute to the development of a global strategy for handset segment.
Additional Role Description:
This individual will be expected to demonstrate the waterline responsibilities of a product specialist, with a specific emphasis on the following;
· Develop product concept statements for proposed new products.
· Own FFU, knowledge of applications, and understanding of current and future customer needs.
· Understand the market – value chain analysis, competition, NBA, buying influences.
· Accountable for the revenue and profit forecast for the global market segment.
· Develop, communicate, and implement a regional business plan for the segment.
· Integration with global operations, technology, and sales associates.
· Accountable for understanding value in use, and maintaining value pricing in the segment.
· Develop competitive strategy and selling tools.
· In depth knowledge of Gore Capabilities and Portable Electronic Vents product offering.
Qualifications: The successful candidate have a BS in Engineering or Science and at least 5 years experience in a technical product role, which included marketing, sales support, strategy development, new product development, and leadership of small cross-functional teams.

· Demonstrated history of working well in a team environment.

· Strong verbal (phone) and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
· Proven ability to manage priorities and drive multiple projects to completion simultaneously
· Ability to critically analyze business opportunities and determine its value and complexity.
· Hands on working style, with demonstrated aptitude for problem solving
· Ability to communicate new ideas and influence cross-functional teams to effectively meet business needs.
· Experience and comfort level in working with multiple systems (Siebel, E1, Compass).
· Willingness to travel (25%) including multiple international trips per year.
· Ability to flex work schedule to accommodate global team during non-traditional working hours (EST evenings)
· Ability to understand CAD drawings, as they relate to vent design
· Product Specialist experience (A minimum of 3 years of commercial business experience)
Nice to Haves
· Graduate degree in business or technical discipline
· Knowledge of acoustics
· Experience in the portable electronics industry
· Experience in working with international Gore teams
· International business experience
· General plastics and molding knowledge
· Pressure sensitive adhesive knowledge
· Foreign language skills (Japanese, Korean, or German)
