Position Description:

Position is responsible for all product development activities. Areas of responsibility include project management, new product development, engineering lab management, and support engineering.

Position will direct, plan, and control product development by providing technical direction, & guidance and hands-on project management. Fully responsibility to hire, develop, and manage staff. Ensure that products are fully/correctly defined and documented.

Will report directly to the VP of Engineering in China, but also take direction from the US based VP of Engineering. Position also requires close collaboration with US based Project Leaders.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Direct new product development activities within department.

2. Provide guidance to all support engineering activities which include small projects, product maintenance, and value engineering.

3. Develop engineering test lab capabilities that will support product development.

4. Ensure projects are complete on time, at cost, and within budget.

5. Meet performance targets, present project status and updates to peers and senior management.

6. Lead the development of procedures and standards and follow these procedure to ensure products meet/exceed established performance criteria.

7. Develop budgets and resource plans.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. 7 – 10 years of experience in product design engineering and project management.

2. Direct experience in Power Tool Accessories (Drill Bits, Screwdriver Bits, Saw Blades) a Plus.

3. Experience in Heat Treating, Materials, Machining, Stamping required.

4. Experience in managing engineering department required.

5. High proficiency in English and effective communication skills.

6. Must be a self-starter and able to work in fast paced environment.

7. Must have excellent organizational skills in order to manage department in complex business environment.

8. Must have 4 year mechanical engineering degree. (Advanced degree preferred.)

9. Must be willing and able to travel up to 20%.
