Job Description
The TrueTouch Manufacturing Engineer will report into the Touchscreen Customer Program Management Team in Taiwan. He will interface directly to the ITO vendor (ex. BYD, TPK) as well as to the Cypress Design Services (CDS) engineers, FAEs and UISE Manufacturing team. The primary purpose of the Sensor Design Manufacturing engineer is to decrease the time it takes for Cypress to deliver a production worthy ITO module solution to a customer through local technical ITO vendor support. The primary responsibilities will be in 5 areas:
(1) ITO vendor qualification
(2) Panel front and back end Design Support
(3) ITO Vendor & OEM Manufacturing support
(4) ITO Vendor and OEM Mfg site FA support
(5) Touchscreen manufacturing yield improvement
Required Skills
(1) ITO Partner Technology Qualification: a. Job scope: Qualify ITO vendors per 001-60753 that can mass produce sensor panels with predictable performance and audit to ensure standard stable technology.
(2) Design Support a. Front end: Matches customer design requirements to ITO vendor capabilities to ensure the panel is designed right the first time on time. b. Back end: Conduct panel testing (bring up, tuning and char per 001-43989) prior to shipping to CDS location. This service will dramatically decrease panel test time by doing testing locally and providing instant char data to both ITO vendor and CDS engineers on panel performance. c. Ensures best practices (spec=sim=actual) per TTSP datasheets
(3) ITO Manufacturing support a. Deploys MFG test fixtures and code developed by UISE Mfg team into ITO vendor and OEM manufacturing flows. b. Provides initial response to manufacturing test yield issues involving Cypress ICs
(4) FA Support a. Provides onsite FA support at ITO vendor and at OEM manufacturing sites
