Technician and Test driver

Corporate Division R&D
Division, located in Shenyang/China
Employment – full time

Tasks

- Service and maintain all BMW Brilliance Automotive test vehicles, with special emphasis on prototype/ pre-production vehicles

- Independently installing test parts, test components and measuring equipment into all BMW Brilliance Automotive test vehicles, prototypes as well as competitor vehicles

- Performing complete vehicle testing including diagnostic and measurement procedures on vehicle components and whole test vehicles

- Participation in test trips or remote testing locations under extreme weather conditions (winter testing, hot climate testing etc.)

Key Responsibilities

- Work closely with vehicle engineers to make recommendations for fault finding, analysis and problem solving for the complete vehicle as part of the R&D Department sign-off process

- Preparation of prototype vehicles for testing according to testing manuals and input from master technician/ engineers

- Maintaining vehicles during testing procedures according to service plan and requests from engineers

- Complete stripping down of prototype vehicles at the end of test to check for defects

- Fabrication and evaluation of various prototype components as well as adjusting/ fitting into prototype test vehicles/ vehicle systems

- Working on BMW Group hybrid and all electric vehicles in a safe and secure way

- Perform test drives in and around the base location as well as at remote testing locations and under extreme environment conditions (e.g. Einter- testing, Heat- Testing, Rough- Road testing)

Qualifications

- Technician

- Analytical, honest, reliable, determined, ready, independent and initiative

- Strong communication skills and demonstrate ability to work with others in a cross cultural setting

- Languages skills: fluent Chinese, fluent English language

- Technical understanding of cars and vehicle structure

- Functional understanding for hybrid functions and electric vehicle

- Experience with diagnostic tools and profound knowledge in debugging faults in complete vehicle

- Electrical qualifications as stipulated by BMW AG (Level 3, preferably higher) to be able to work on current hybrid and electrical prototype vehicles

- Profound driving skills and ability to evaluate vehicle properties while driving dense traffic

- Work experience in an international environment, 1-3 years

- Experience in the automotive field, 1-3 years
