Advanced Specialist Charging and Energy Management Systems

Tasks

- The function is related to research and development of NEV (New Energy Vehicle) systems for BMW Brilliance products

- The goal is to further understand research and develop the charging interface of NEVs including all related components and functionalities, software and hardware, internal to the vehicle and external including infrastructure

- The task involves component development, system integration and the general management of diverse activities related to charging with a potential focus on supplier sourcing and qualification

Key Responsibilities

- Responsible for the development and testing of charging interfaces and related functions which are used in battery electric vehicles (BEV) as well as plug-in hybrid vehicles

- Define charging specifications based on product requirements as well as (inter-)national standards and manage the implementation of those

- Define test case or test bench specifications, building and procuring necessary equipment and executing said tests. This may apply to components, functions on vehicle or sub-system levels as they related to the charging interface

- Support the sourcing of charging related component suppliers and their qualification

- Coordinate work with colleagues in all of China and Germany in the fields of development, production, quality assurance, purchasing and controlling

- Coordinate work with colleagues from production in Shenyang to ensure optimal operation of the vehicles in the plant

- Quality management of assigned components in the development process. Includes problem and test management of your components (e.g. input, report of failures and confirmation of bug-fixes)

- Infrastructure planning and management of BMW Brilliance internal use areas as well as securing interoperability of infrastructure in other areas

- Coordination and organization of potential charging projects with external authorities, OEMs, energy providers or other organizations in order to better understand the status of the "charging environment" in China today

Qualifications

- University degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar

- Independent, analytical, engaged communicative, organized, honest, reliable, packing initiative and truly interested in alternative energy. Fast learners only

- Languages skills: competent technical and business capable English language (written and spoken) required, any level of German a plus

- General technical hardware and software knowledge

- Working experiences with bus communication and vehicle SW-structure

- Working experience in electric control units, embedded systems, testing of ECUs

- Ability and experience in negotiating and qualifying suppliers on a technical level

- Knowledge of safety rules of high voltage storage systems and HV-systems in general

- Ability and experience in electrical installations a plus

- Functional understanding for hybrid functions and electric vehicle

- Chinese driver's license

- Experience with ECUs, electronics, 1-3 years

- Experience in the automotive field or similar, 1-3 years

- Driving experience, 1-3 years
