Job Title: Senior HW Manager

Business Introduction:
Microsoft Asia Center for Hardware (MACH) is a fast growing team based in Shenzhen, China, in supporting Microsoft Hardware businesses across the company to design, develop and manufacture computer peripherals, Xbox gaming consoles and accessories, and other hardware devices. We have been successfully developing the product development, manufacturing engineering, and factory management capabilities with an integrated cross-functional team. MACH is currently looking for a Senior Hardware Manager (EE) to lead and manage its hardware design activities.

Responsibilities: (mandatory)
- Candidate must be well prepared to innovate and lead hardware design efforts, cooperate within and across groups and functions. Will be leading and managing a team of EE incubation engineers responsible for all aspects of EE design related to our Xbox and its companion products, including generation of innovative product concepts and definition of system architecture.
- Ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, ownership and accountability, has excellent HW and FW design skills, enjoys learning, can effectively bring solutions to difficult problems, and has great attention to details.
- Lead and manage EE incubation team to implement new HW designs from ground up, including system architecture definition, component selection, schematic design, layout, DFX, protocol definition, high speed signal integrity design and measurement. FW architecture and design is a plus. Knowledge of digital signal processing and communication theories and practices is a plus, including: sampling theory, filter design, equalization, channel and line coding, timing recovery.
- Propose & define product system architecture, ensure that designs meet established specifications, cost, timeline and development budgets. Can independently propose HW and FW solutions that meet challenging product user experience requirements. Ensure that the designs are implemented optimally and meet all design constraints. Ensure that the design is robust and meets all MS internal and industrial requirements.
- Conduct design reviews and write design documents
- Manage project scope and risks.
- Manage internal and outsourced development efforts.
- Collaborate with marketing, ID, UX and technology teams and participate in project reviews

Qualifications: (mandatory)
- Bachelor's Degree in EE or equivalent experience, advanced degree (MS and/or MBA) preferred
- A minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in EE design and qualification, preferably in the consumer electronics, mobile and personal computer industry is required.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Ability to concurrently manage multiple design activities and development schedules
- Position requires domestic and international travel
- Must be a team player

Demonstrated Traits/Behaviors: (optional)
- Proven record of leading a team to successfully deliver complicated EE design through the entire product development process from front-end conceptual phase all the way to mass production, and can bring technical depth to EE problem-solving with a team of senior engineering professionals
- Confident communicator with good English skills

- Strong root cause analysis skills; able to effectively find ways to reproduce difficult problems, root cause and then find solutions
- Strong passion to achieve great product user experience through design, prototyping, and iteration
