Duties:

· Lead/conduct applied research and development in Big data analytics and Cloud computing technology

· Design and implement BDA solutions

· Conduct software testing and QA

· Mentor junior engineers

Requirements:

· Bachelor degree with 6+ years’ relevant experience in software development; Master degree with 3+ years’ experience; less experience for PhD holder. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Engineer.

· Required skills:

· SCM: Git or Mercurial, SVN is a plus.

· Build Tool: Ant/Maven/SBT (Simple Build Tool)

· Continuous Integration Environment: Jenkins

· Operating Systems: Linux x86 32-bit / 64-bit, especially for RHEL/SLES.

· Release Automation: Chef, Vagrant, SaltStack

· Technologies: Familiar with BASH scripting, python scripting, familiar with standard build-test-release cycles in Java-based systems.

· Familiar with working in a Linux-based environment, comfortable with manipulating the file system and have

· Experience with agile software development methodologies and frameworks such as SCRUM, Test〥riven Development, is a plus.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with geographically distributed teams

· Excellent command of English, fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin is a plus.

· Self motivated and fast learner

Candidates with the following SW development skills will be considered with higher priority:

· Proficient in OO programming, especially Java and C++, possesses deep knowledge on JVM, core Java and their performance

· Strong knowledge on distributed algorithms and multi?hreaded programming.

· Experience in REST application design and implementation

· Experience in Java EE(JBoss/weblogic/websphere) and PlayFramework

· Experience in database operation and programming (SQL, JDBC, AD/LDAP). Sound knowledge on Java Security: key management, JCA, JCE, SSL/TLS, and Spring security.

· Experience with Hadoop and MapReduce

· Mobile apps development experience

Appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical and dental benefits, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work under a five-day week schedule.
