Job Summary: The Quality Director for Gongming is responsible for the ensuring an effective quality system is maintained and executed in the Gongming factory, to deliver continuous improvement in shipped quality and reliability levels and escape reduction. He/she leads and develops the capabilities of the Gongming Quality team and drives increased participation of the entire factory community in delivering best in class quality performance, and ensures good communication from the factory to respond to customers.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Goals –

· Develops factory quality indicator and performance management system that identifies top opportunities for improvement.

· Ensures the free flow of information from Customer issues back to the factory and sub-tier suppliers enabling the identification of top issues and the ready availability of supporting data required to drive corrective action plans and validate effectiveness of resolution.

· Drives and coaches problem solving and issue response teams.

· Sets goals for performance of new products through the phase gate process and guides the development of Quality Functional Strategies, manufacturing control plans and risk mitigation measures.

· Ensures Customer specific requirements are fully understood and reflected in all new product Introduction (NPI) functional area plans.

· Manages the change control process ensuring procedures and work instructions related to the site QMS are clearly aligned with QMS requirements (e.g. the sections of the ISO 9001 standard), are not duplicated or difficult to locate, and are fully trained and deployed. Curbs the development of redundant or unnecessary procedures.

· Plans and executes internal audit program to ISO9001, ISO 14001 and other management systems and runs management review for site goal setting and quality system performance review.

· Plans and executes internal audit program for other management systems such as Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), RoHS etc.

· Drives the integration of the Power Solutions QMS with Contract Manufacturers QMS, ensuring all requirements are adequately reflected in documented procedures and covered by an audit and performance tracking, and QMS management system.

· Is the point of contact for Customer audits and visits, and owns driving mutually agreed corrective actions and improvements.

· Leads and develops the Quality team in the factory and contract manufacturing sites.

· Duties and responsibilities may be modified or assigned in order to meet the needs of the business.

Technical / Professional skills

· Working familiarity with QMS’s compliant with ISO9001, TS 16949, QMS 9000, TL9000 etc

· Broad knowledge of national and international quality standards which pertain to the electronics industry, such as IEC, ISO and IPC

· Practical experience in building quality systems which produce quantifiable benefits to customers and company alike – impact versus compliance bias

· Deep knowledge of product development, NPI (New Product Introduction) and manufacturing processes for electronics/electrical assemblies

· Highly effective at taking broad management objectives, and developing tools and methodologies to implement those objectives

· Ability to work, prioritize, organize, instruct and make decisions efficiently and effectively under deadline pressure.

· Proven, effective collaborator capable of building and managing strong working relationships across organizational boundaries. Has experience with global teams, and working with and integrating people of varied backgrounds. Can act as coach.

· Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.

Education / Language / Experience

· Bachelors degree in engineering or quality relevant discipline

· 7-10 Years experience in the development and management of an ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System in an electronics manufacturing industry

· Experienced problem solver with track record in driving cross functional teams within structured problem solving framework

· Lean experience and audit training preferred

· Fluent Chinese and English speaker. Able to communicate effectively in writing in both languages.

Other Conditions:

· Ability to obtain visas/travel permits in various countries as required

· Work requires substantial time on the factory floor
