Responsibilities

1. Part of hardware development team, work closely with design team, PCB manufacturer, and external PCB layout house
2. Perform PCB physical layout (stack-up, placement, routing, constraint settings, length match, etc.)
3. Generate fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and drill files and make sure the correctness of the files
4. Be owner for library, to create PCB footprint using Cadence’s Allegro and Schematic symbol using Cadence's ConceptHDL
5. Maintain the library creation guideline and optimize the process
6. Generate and maintain library checklist
7. Maintain the library database and sync up the data with Agile system regularly, ensure the quality, the up-to-date state of the global ECAD library.
8. Work concurrently with HW engineers, mechanical engineers, component engineers, vendor engineering, CAD engineers to consult and resolve any impending issues and outstanding concerns regarding missing and/or erroneous data
9. Work with IT to resolve library system / database issue
10. Primary interface to work with external layout house on out-sourced projects including library creation
11. Manage external layout house to complete PCB design and meet requirements, with responsibility for overall planning, quality assurance, and risk management
12. Work with hardware engineers, peer layout designers, or external vendors to resolve problems
13. Work closely with Hardware Engineer to ensure rule settings are exact as required
14. Work with DFM engineer to address DFM issues and TQs/EQs
15. Provide guidance/recommendation on PCB materials and technologies

Key Qualifications

1. Bachelor degree in EE with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in multi-layer PCB design and library management
2. Be proficient in using Cadence CAD Tools, and be familiar with schematic tools such as Concept HDL, Orcad
3. Experience in library creation including PCB footprint and Schematic symbol using Concept HDL
4. Experience with analog, digital and mixed signal PCB layout
5. Experience in extremely complex (high speed, high density) PCB layout design
6. Experience in schematic capture, library generation, routing rules creation, signal integrity optimization
7. Familiar with IPC standards
8. Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision
9. Able to meet tight schedules with attention to detail
10. Strong problem solving skills and demonstrate the ability to make technical proposals and decisions
11. Ability to quickly learn new concepts and to become proficient with new devices, tools, processes, etc.
12. Good executive ability, high sense of responsibility and professionalism
13. Good communication and negotiation skills
14. Fluent oral and written English

1. Experience in signal simulation and knowledge in signal integrity
2. Hardware design experience
3. Familiar with all phases of hardware development process
