Description
W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. is looking for an energetic, flexible, organized and high performing quality control lab associate to join one of our quality control lab teams. This associate will have responsibilities in the QC lab. The successful candidate will have good analytical, data and documentation skills and be knowledgeable in basic statistics and project management. The ability to learn a variety of new tests and equipment, as well as excellent communication skills and team work ability will be essential in this work environment. A working knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint is expected.
Primary responsibilities includes
? Perform QC/QA testing for technically advanced fabric products
? Troubleshoot problems and perform periodic maintenance on QC instrumentation
? Take part in and lead the validation projects to ensure the test stability
? Develop new test methods independently or in partnership with engineers/new product development
? Write SOPs, work instructions, calibration and maintenance procedures as well as train other lab associates on these procedures
? Document technical work
Qualifications
? B.S. in chemistry, material science, textiles or engineering degree or related field and a minimum of 3 years experience with analytical or materials testing and test method development or equivalent experience is required
? Hands-on experience working with a variety of instrumentation/techniques
? Experience with statistical software, for analysis of variability, process capability and control charting
? Good communication, presentation and technical writing skills using Word, Excel and Power Point are tools required for the role
? Demonstrated success working in a team environment
? Good command of Spoken and Written English
The following skills would be an advantage
? Experience bringing new equipment on line
? Knowledge of equipment calibration practices
