Department Description


PSFT Enterprise Tools Platforms development team is responsible for development& maintenance of some of the core sub-products of Enterprise Tools &certifications of all the third party products used in it. The team is responsible for analyzing and integrating external customer requirements and enhancements requests related to OS, Webserver, Appserver, and database platforms, specify, design and implement required changes to existing software architecture, integrate new platforms and development tools, build and execute unit tests and unit test plans, and review integration and regression test plans created by QA, and ensure that the Enterprise Tools software is certified and supported with latest technology platforms.

Detailed Description


As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.


Job Requirements


Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.


Additional Details


As a development manager in the PSFT Enterprise Tools Platform Development team, you will be responsible for managing a team of developers working on databases and text search technologies. You are expected to ensure team's compliance with the existing development processes, provide technical leadership, plan delivery of enhancements and bug fixes, and help the team to deliver those on schedule. You will be required to manage customer issues and escalations and collaborate with other support teams to ensure timely resolution of customer issues. You will collaborate with vendors and partners to ensure prompt resolutions of required fixes from them and drive their roadmap towards PSFT specific feature requests. As a member of product development team, you should be able to motivate and encourage team members to innovate.



Preferred qualifications: BS or MS degree in CS or other engineering disciplines and more than 12 years experience in enterprise software development with at least 2+ years as a development manager. Strong development experience in C++ or java on Windows and Unix, database programming (SQL, and procedural language) on Oracle, SQL Server and/or other database platforms. Knowledge of middleware technologies, and text search technology is highly desirable.
