JOB PURPOSE
To Manage and coordinate the supply chain, sourcing and logistics functions in the Plant to ensure all demand requirements of Export, Local and Intercompany sites are fully satisfied with continually improving service levels. Manages the forecasting and capacity planning (labour, materials) of the Xi’an operations. Ensure production plans are in place to achieve the optimum mix of improved service, reduced inventory, high vendor OTD, robust supplier management and accurate order book alignment. The role will be measured on the basis of Cost, Quality, Inventory and Delivery/Service. Leading the development of people will also be a core element of the role.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Manages and develops the Sourcing team ensuring that products are sourced from robust supply sources with audits carried out, commercial negotiations completed and aligned with Regional Supply Chain group. Solid focus on delivering year on year commercial savings. .
2. Manages and develops Logistics / Shipping team to provide first class level of customer support for Domestic, Export and intercompany shipments. Tightly manage the freight spend, ensuring Root Cause Analysis and Corrective actions are completed in a timely manner. Monitors, tracks and improves ‘freight expense’ with particular focus on airfreight reduction. Manages carrier performance closely.
3. Co-ordinates S&OP Supply activities for India and makes a significant contribution to planning and executing the monthly business planning process of S&OP with the senior management team and Regional Supply Chain Manager. Focus on both the short-term planning cycle as well as the medium/long term strategic review of the business.
4. Formulate water-tight supply partnerships/relationships with external suppliers and liaise with Supplier Development and Quality resources to drive outstanding vendor OTD (> 90%) and implement leadtime reduction programs. Align well with master scheduling teams at Bussmann plants to continually evolve capacity planning model, including supplier forecasting. Implement VMI//consignment arrangements with all core vendors.
5. Liaises with the Quality Team, Customers and Suppliers to ensure quality issues are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer.
6. Develops monitoring programs to routinely review the cost of inbound freight from factored product vendors and outbound freight to customers (external and intercompany) to recommend/execute changes to ordering behaviour to optimise freight cost, inventory cost and service.
7. Demonstrate strong results orientation around KPIs (service, inventory, supplier performance, order book alignment, sourcing savings) in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain team, delivering enhanced profitability of the Xi’An operations..
8. Ensures that the Xi’An operations meet all the document / legal / compliance requirements of the local govt and also of the country exported to.
9. Optimises the use of Cooper Business Systems to provide full visibility of supply and delivery functions to plants and distribution centres world-wide to strive to meet customer request dates on all orders. This will include development of the usage of SAP to drive planning and replenishment systems. Drive the move away from manual systems.

? Lead the effective Launch and absorption of new PN’s and SKU’s as Bussmann develops and acquires new products to meet growth strategic objectives.
? Drive process standardisation and cross-training within the team. Important to be a strong advocate of standardised work.
? Reduce freight cost as % of sales by reducing airfreight.
? Driver strong vendor OTD performance
? Be a supporter and true authentic proponent of people development
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
? Degree coupled with professional management qualification in supply chain/logistics.
? Minimum 8 years’ experience heading up a medium sized operation handling supply chain/sourcing/logistics broad end-to-end supply chain function.
? Track record of demonstrable people management skills
? Excellent commercial awareness and negotiating skills required
? International / global experience and exposure with good cultural awareness required
? Understanding of the financial aspects of running the Supply chain function.
? Experience of the total business process utilising formal Resource Planning techniques and supply chain management
