Objective of job

• Graduated engineering specialist with some practical job experience (at least an internship) for Mercedes-Benz Engineering Support Office (ESO), which is the interface between the production plant (BBAC) and development (RD Germany)
• Coordination and supporting the development of CHPT parts for Daimler passenger cars (e.g. MRA: C-Class 205, E-Class 213, NGCC X156), sometimes also including for export for MB vehicles produced in Europe
• Main task is the development of parts together with local suppliers in China, verify results together with R&D headquarter in Germany and in ESO vehicle testing programs – responsibility for the technical release procedure of parts.
• Support change management, documentation and release of CHPT parts for MB passenger cars

Qualification required

• Education
• University degree in general mechanical or automotive engineering
• Experience
• Graduates with some experience in automotive industry (at least internship), preferably as well as applicants with 2-3 years of work experience at OEMs or suppliers
• Specific Knowledge
• Chinese native speaker with fluent English language skills, German language beneficial
• Computer skills mandatory, including Lotus Notes, Windows Office, CAD (CATIA V5 is preferred)
• Self-responsible working attitude and initiative
• Intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Enthusiasm for automobiles, strong will to develop for continuous vehicle improvement
• Willingness to travel inside China and abroad to prepare and support launches at suppliers

Task designation

• Your main task is the development of high quality CHPT components for Mercedes-Benz vehicles, with the support of the German RD departments. You work with local suppliers and the BBAC plant. Your diverse tasks and responsibilities include the following:
• Manage the development of CHPT components at the Chinese supplier
• Evaluate and verify supplier results by endurance testing as well as by vehicle driving test runs
• Work together with cross-functional departments like product planning, quality and logistics, set up project milestones as well as coordinate activities to pursue tight time schedules
• Support of the on-time introduction of local and imported parts for our current series vehicles and all planned MRA and NGCC Mercedes projects in China.
• Follow all technical changes from RD for local and imported Parts and support the handover to BBAC Product engineering.
• Assist pilot runs, try outs and series productions of Mercedes-Benz cars at the production plant with technical support and profound knowledge
• Follow part localization projects from design-freeze to part release with handover to series production.
• Fulfill requirements of homologation processes and introduce new parts successfully to the Chinese market
