A. Job Summary & Dimensions
Responsible for metal parts supplier development activities within Asia-Pacific. This includes supplier identification, certification, and continuous improvement. Uses quality, manufacturing, and supply chain experience to minimize the total cost of ownership for Southco components and assemblies sourced in Asia. Position involves frequent travel (>50% of the time). Works closely with colleagues in other regions (No. America and Europe) to resolve issues and improve supply chain performance.
B. Job Accountabilities
1. SUPPLIER MFG PROCESS DEVELOPMENT - Components feasibility review; Technical review with Southco design and manufacturing engineering team, as well as with Supplier engineering team, Evaluate and approve supplier manufacturing process including tooling design/manufacturing, process control, quality improvement to achieve high quality, reasonable cost and on time delivery.

B. Job Accountabilities
1. SUPPLIER MFG PROCESS DEVELOPMENT - Components feasibility review; Technical review with Southco design and manufacturing engineering team, as well as with Supplier engineering team, Evaluate and approve supplier manufacturing process including tooling design/manufacturing, process control, quality improvement to achieve high quality, reasonable cost and on time delivery.
2. SUPPLIER QUALITY ASSURANCE - Analyzes supplier performance (in-house and at supplier's location). Applies statistical techniques to analyze and evaluate studies. Negotiates with suppliers to find equitable solutions to problems and to resolve corrective actions. Oversees and participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of quality systems surveys which identify supplier characteristics. Develops and presents recommendations to supply chain/product management/SBU teams regarding supplier. Track and maintain supplier quality performance and its qualification and certification status.
3. SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT - Plans, organizes and conducts supplier development activities in Asia-Pacific. Works very closely with NPD and Quality manager in Asia as well as the Supply Chain organization to maximize the quality and minimize the lead-time of parts/components/assemblies sourced in Asia-Pacific.
4. SUPPLIER ASSESSMENT - Conduct supplier survey to evaluate supplier quality systems, technical and processes capability, capacity based on Southco quality, cost and delivery requirements.
5. PURCHASING, PROCUREMENT & OUTSOURCING - Working with Asia engineering, operation and China suppliers on quotation, price, delivery, quality, lead time, inventory, and overall supplier relationship. Follows Global Work Instructions realted to purchasing/procurement and develops (with assistance from Corp.) local work instructions. Supports Southco's Asian outsourcing programs by providing technical support and guidance.
Main Requirement:

1. University degree in stamping or mechanical engineering
2. Fluent in Mandarin and good English.
3. Over 8 years experience with stamping process
4. Experience with supplier management is plus
5. Knowledge of ISO9000/TS16946, familiar about DFEMA/PFEMA/PPAP
