Job Description:
Come leverage Broadcom's world-class talent and technology and make the impact in network switching software and systems that you have always wanted to accomplish. Join a market-leading applications engineering team involved in Ethernet packet processing and switching systems.
Leverage your background in software, network standards, systems, and technical applications engineering to provide support to Tier 1 customers, who are designing their products with Broadcom's XGS series switch.
In this position you will be required to become an expert in the architecture of our XGS product that allows Broadcom to dominate this market. You will interface with both (domestic and international) customers and our Field Applications Engineers starting with pre-sales support and working all the way to ensure the successful launch of the finished products.
You will be involved in many of the following duties and responsibilities:
- Support of architecture and software questions and issues related to Broadcom XGS switch
- Debugging of complicated issues and problems
- Training of customers and Field Applications Engineers
- Documentation generation and review
- Analysis of customer architecture and requirements. Provide customer’s feedback to chip architect and software team
- Support marketing and FAE to win the new design from tier#1 customers
You may work directly with customers and must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with and support these customers. You will also work with a variety of internal employees in Hardware and Software Engineering, Architecture, Field Applications Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams.

While most work will be performed at Broadcom offices, some work will be done on customer premises that will necessitate travel (including international travels).

Job Requirements
+ BS, MS, or post-graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering).
+ Minimum of 6 to 15+ years in relevant fields with a strong track record of success.
+ L2/L3 networking protocols and products experience. Experience of Broadcom XGS series switch product and SDK is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of L2 switching and L3 Routing related technology.
- Familiar with 802.1Q and 802.1ad bridge
- Familiar with DiffServ & QoS
- Familiar with both IPv4/v6 Unicast and Multicast Routing
+ Knowledge of Data Center Bridging networks and applications is MUST.
- Knowledge of general Data Center Bridging structure
- Knowledge of DCB related standards, like IEEE 802.1qbh, 802.1qbg, NVGRE, VXLAN, etc.
+ Having good experiences with debugging embedded systems and programming.
+ Outstanding problem solving skills and great attitude are required for this position.
+ Good knowledge and practical experience with C language.
+ Solid skill of both written and oral English.
+ Knowledge of Metro Ethernet networks and applications is a good plus.
- Knowledge of MPLS and L2/L3 MPLS-VPN services & applications
- Knowledge of CFM/Y.1731 OAMs
+ Experience with working closely with customers and product development teams to deliver innovative silicon solutions.
+ Ability to write high quality documentations.
+ Highly motivated self-starter, able to use own initiative to debug issues and drive solutions.
+ Good communication skills and inter-personnel relations.
