Requirements:
? Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
? With experience working in the Electronics Industry and/or Plastic Injection Molding and Tooling Industry
? Minimum 7 years working experience
? Strong background in the design of Plastic parts and/or Plastic Injection Mold Tool that involves components with high accuracy and strict mechanical and cosmetic requirements.
? With hands on experience using 3D Cad modeling software (Pro-E) and Mold Simulation software
? With extensive knowledge of Injection Molding Processes, Plastic Part finishes and post processes
? Possesses leadership skills and ability to work with cross functional teams
? Creative, proactive, and willing to work long hours
Job Responsibilities:
? Conduct design reviews with the Mechanical Design team and provide inputs on part design, and manufacturability.
? Conduct Tooling DFM reviews with the Plastic Injection Molding and Tooling Supplier to ensure compliance to design standards and provide inputs on tool design and moldability.
? Lead the Tooling development and ensure compliance to schedule, specifications and cost targets.
? Handle the qualification and approval of the tools, molded parts and injection molding operations and process. Manage the qualification tests at assembly level.
? Request quotations for Tools
? Provide cost estimates, cost targets and be able to analyze and provide cost breakdown for molded parts
? Take the lead in problem analysis and troubleshooting for tooling and molding issues, and in defining the necessary corrective and preventive actions
? Participate and work with cross functional teams in Tooling supplier development and audits as necessary.
? Develop and maintain Tooling design standards
? Should always keep abreast and be updated in the latest technology developments for plastics, tooling and injection molding processes and to provide technical inputs to the Mechanical Design team.
