Position Summary

The Transportation Analyst – Eastern Hemisphere is responsible for international freight moving from Asia to global ATT companies in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. The position provides analysis and recommendations to be used by the global supply chain. The position communicates daily with carriers, third party providers, suppliers and ATT facilities to ensure the optimal movement of freight in the most cost efficient manner.

Major Responsibilities

· Conduct ongoing analysis for global freight expenditures to determine opportunities for cost reduction and service improvement

· Negotiate rates with carriers to obtain best pricing and routing

· Conduct global RFI’s and RFP’s and provide analysis and recommendations

· Develop and maintain routing guides and monitor compliance

· Monitor third party provider’s service performance and compliance with guidelines

· Administer and oversee cargo claims to ensure optimum recovery

· Problem solve transportation issues and communicate as necessary with internal and external customers including sales, customer service, finance, operations and IT

· Provide reports, scorecards, analysis and recommendations to be utilized in key business decisions

· Work with freight forwarder to ensure the visibility system is updated and correct; work with suppliers and material planners to resolve discrepancies in the visibility system

Additional Competencies

· Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite: primarily Excel, Access and PowerPoint

· Strong knowledge of transportation rules and regulations

· Knowledge of export procedures and customs regulations

· Knowledge of INCO Terms

· Ability to skillfully negotiate to create creative solutions that satisfy all parties

· Ability to analyze, develop and propose strategies that will help the organization be more effective and competitive

Required Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

Education

· College degree preferred

Relevant Work Experience

· 5 - 7 years experience in supply chain and/or transportation setting
