Job Description
- Work with QRD sourcing team extremely close in charge of Qualcomm 3G/4G platform based smartphone and tablet key components:
? Component roadmap sustaining
? Database setup
? QRD key component list maintenance
- Work with QMC product marketing team extremely close, very familiar with QMC product roadmap and technology offering, conduct QMC platform based/Optimized system component management
- Dot line report to QRD HW System Architect, to provide component information for system architecture design
- Dot line report to QRD HW R&D Manager, to provide component information for QRD CSC decision making
- Dot line report to QRD Component Lab Manager, to provide component information for component qualification queue decision making and advance component technology study and evaluation
- Hardware engineering interface to sourcing team from component level
? Regular review meeting to get the component roadmap update regularly from sourcing team and maintain the roadmap for QRD HW System Architect on system architecture design
? Regular review meeting to get the component supply status include material shortage and component phase out trend for QRD HW System Architect on system architecture design without any component supply issue and for QRD HW R&D team to do the proactive design changes to avoid supply issue in QRD HW design and build in both QRD and at customers’ side
- Hardware engineering interface to CE (Customer Engineering) team from component level
? Collect system component information required by QRD customers, feedback such information to QRD HW R&D Manager and QRD Component Lab
? Collect system component trend information from QRD competitors, feedback such information to QRD System Architect
- Hardware engineering interface to CE (Component Engineering) team in SD
? To sync the worldwide new component technology trend
? To get the mini spec. from core team and maintain them in QRD
? Understand the key component selection in CDP/MTP designs
- Work with QRD HW PCN contact window to be aware of QRD platform revision infomration
- Be innovative on design cost optimization, insist in the balance of components’ performance, quality, cost, delivery, support for easy QRD design fanning out to QRD customers
- Coordinate QRD HW Engineering vendor visit events
- QRD HW Engineering vendor managment
- An individual contribute role, report to QRD HW Engineering Director

Skills/Experience
- Extremely strong component ecosystem and industry knowledge include both engineering and operation
- Extremely wide information channels of component ecosystem and industry
- Strong knowledge on mobile phone and tablet RF topology design and RF component technologies like transceiver, duplexer, filter, PA etc.
- Strong knowledge on mobile phone and tablet electronic design technical domains including RF, baseband.
- Strong knowledge on baseband technical domains including processor, DSP, memory, power, display, CTP, camera, IOs, sensor, connectivity, audio sub systems as well as component technologies
- Experience in BT, WiFi, FM, GPS and NFC component technologies
- Strong component data statistic, processing, and mining capability
- Strong component vendor management capability and skill sets, is able to work with the key stakeholders of QRD HW Engineering
and lead the technology management to component vendors
- Is very familiar with component level electronic performance evaluation and validation
- Is very familiar with component manufactory process
- Innovative in design cost optimization at component level
- Experience of Qualcomm platform based smart phone and tablet design is preferred
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) in both Chinese and English
- Good presentation skills in both Chinese and English
- Minimal 10~12 yrs experience on mobile device component engineering and/or source
- Minimal 4~6 yrs experience of mobile phone component or supply chain team management.
- BSEE degree is a must, MSEE is a plus
