Overview

KPMG’s Risk Consulting has grown substantially since its establishment. We help organisations improve their corporate governance practices, risk management and internal control systems by focusing on strategic and operational risk issues spanning different functions and operating units. We provide governance, risk and compliance services to support compliance with listing rules and other regulatory requirements, and assist in developing integrated frameworks that unify governance, risk, compliance and assurance functions.

We currently have an outstanding opportunity within our IARCS practice for a Director in our Guangzhou or Shenzhen office. This role is critical in ensuring that our rapidly expanding IARCS department maintains its market position in the provision of internal audit and risk consulting services. Depending on experience and skill sets, responsibilities may include business development, sales, and marketing of advisory services, including but not limited to boosting the firm’s profile in the marketplace, identifying opportunities for advisory services, and preparing proposals as required.

This role will be particularly attractive to those who have experience or knowledge in risk-based auditing or those who have experience in advising management on ways to improve performance and controls. The role will also be attractive to those who would like to travel and have local and international working experience.

Overall, you will be responsible for the IARCS function in Southern China offices. This will include managing the existing staff and the current client portfolio, as well as developing and rolling out a strategy to ensure future growth of the IARCS function in Southern China. You will be a critical sounding board for engagement teams servicing the client base. You will also play a significant role in staff development through training and the sharing of knowledge on a national, regional and global basis. You will have the ability to build a network of contacts across the global firm, develop relationships at the highest level, and leverage this network for the benefit of the firm and its clients. The successful candidate should have a good mix of the qualifications and competencies as outlined below:

· Strong leadership skills and a high level of professional maturity

· Good business acumen and a strong sense of business development

· High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability

· Strong presentation skills with an excellent command of spoken and written Mandarin (Putonghua) and English

Experience and Knowledge

· Relevant experience in corporate governance, risk management, and internal audit in multinational corporations, professional services firm, and at least a few years at the management level.
