Position Statement (accountabilities, tasks):

The Resources to be engaged under this Position will be accountable for.
? Technology Lead on Project work -leading virtual teams to achieve project deliverables and / or
? Technology Lead on Developer on Project work-leading System Architecture Design and Software development activity (technical lead for teams of developers) to achieve project deliverables and /or
? Technology Lead SME -Deep Technology specialist (Design and Code) to achieve project deliverables
? Internal Stakeholder Management-doability / recommendations based on RDD/BRD documentation -from micro-system level through to Macro- collection of systems impacts and do-ability
? Technology Assessments and Estimation-
? Management of production Applications, Platforms and Systems-Lifecycle planning and roadmaps (execution in the case of high severity issues requiring senior resource / skill input-typically large customer impacting issues)
? Participation in Resource Recruitment (Interview, selection, on boarding, training)- both for ITCL and for Vendor Resource Selection (when Vetting Professional Services Engagements)
? Project estimation, planning sequencing, dependency management-deep technical input to formal project management processes
? Technology leadership- Drive, Direction, Issue Management/Resolution, Product and system Roadmaps
? Mentoring Junior Staff
? Capacity Planning and Management of J2EE containers -Including Review and Certification of financial impacts for Capacity Planning (and working with Fundamental Planning Groups)
? Capacity Planning and Management of Enterprise Service Bus containers Including Review and Certification of financial impacts for Capacity Planning (and working with Fundamental Planning Groups)
? Management of Production Software support Lifecycle Activities for the SDF Core and SO streams of the Service Delivery Framework Project.
? Code and configuration deliverables for items on the Program of Work

Requirements/Deliverables:
? Management of a team of Technology Specialists and Senior Technology Specialists And/Or
? Technology Lead Coding output- lead and Certification of Development Plans, Design Documents, Team Code Reviews , Software Framework Infrastructure build, Test Issue resolution/management, Deployment planning. And/or
? Niche Code Deliverables - where problem space requires input from a Senior Industry Specialist
? Managing Customers Expectations and consulting with customers on defining problem boundaries and available solutions
? Evaluating all Technical Options and selecting Strategic Technical directions
? Managing Deployment activities within the Production and Non-Production environments (including Dependency identification and management of external systems and parties)
? Standardising and automating deployment activities (where Possible)
? Managing/Leading Level 4 support and Maintenance for applications in the production and pre-production environments
? Review and integrate all application reqs, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations requirements. Review and integrate the technical architecture requirements for the development, execution, and operations environments
? Mentoring and growing junior resources.
? Fully understand the capabilities and limitations of the technical environments that come with any packaged software used by the project
? Design, Develop, Deploy and improve specific technologies and their interaction with client processes and systems to deliver products and services to customer business units.
? Translate customer (internal, external or regulatory) needs and requirements, using technical principles into realisable products, services, or systems and/or networks infrastructure in a timely, quality and cost effective way to ensure operational capability to deliver customer service
? Engage and manage resources within the Service Delivery & Applications group as well as other business units to assist with testing and application signoff.
? Achieve a well-defined, functioning and repeatable set of key business, program management and technology processes to ensure consistent quality is maintained.
? Software Design and Build of Complex, High Transaction or High Risk Systems Components
? Perform application performance, load analysis and capacity planning as required to support the solution

Desirable Skills:
? Experience with Technical leadership at least at a project level.
? Experience working with Solution Design and Architecture teams
? Experience managing customer requirements and customer expectations
? Experience scheduling and estimating technical deliverables
? Experience leading support activities in high availability, high transaction production systems
? Strong experience in software development environments for high availability J2EE platforms
? Strong experience integrating web services in a Linux (preferably SUSE) and/or Solaris environment
? Demonstrated experience using the following Frameworks , Technologies and Patterns Hibernate, Spring, JDBC, SQL, JAX-WS, AXIS 1.2.1 and Database performance tuning
? Demonstrated experience both in using and developing frameworks to unify services and back end system functionality provided under different transport mechanisms,
? You will have solid technical experience in a commercial environment using products such as BEA Web logic Integration Server and the BEA Aqua logic suite (ALSB, ALBPM)
? You will have current knowledge of software engineering standards, tools and best practices in particularly in a Java environment
? Deep appreciation of platform architecture and technology, the process of software deployment, and environment management.
? Appreciation of SOA concepts
? Experience supporting, developing and integrating Enterprise Java Applications

Candidate Justification (why would this resource be suited to the company, department and role, e.g. cultural alignment, business results, behaviours, technical knowledge )

Candidate will have a proven skill set in the technology areas used within the existing Product and Business Services offered within Online and with client deemed strategic.

The Candidates role will maps well into the existing position's role, the additional activities not already being undertaken will be Operational Activities.

The Candidate will ideally be familiar with Technology Design and build processes and is familiar with the day to day operation and management of the various systems that make up the SDF. The Candidate will also familiar with the Architecture , design and business rules that the system is build around.

Culturally the Candidate should be an excellent fit for the team, and would be found to be already working to the behavioural guidelines.
