Principle Tasks:
The Supply Base Engineer (SBE) for PSU will work globally to provide technical support for PSU selection, qualification, Introduction, and lifecycle management. The SBE for PSU will drive alignment between R+D product specifications and supplier’s technology and capabilities. Dedicated to driving continuous improvement within our supply base by assuring ADVA receives the best total value for all purchased goods and services.
1. Serve as the technical lead in the PSU Sourcing commodity team, maintaining knowledge base for applicable PSU commodities and resolving all PSU technical issues.
2. Build up and maintain ADVA PSU strategy based on ADVA product requirement and PSU industry status with the PSU commodity team
3. Drive Approved Vendor List (AVL) adherence for PSU commodity, identifying opportunities to leverage PVL suppliers for new sourcing projects
4. Drive PSU Approved Vendor List for PSU commodities; approving all additions, changes, deletions and communicate changes to outsource suppliers
5. Act as the key interface between PSU Supplier and the Engineering Teams to drive New PSU Introduction
6. selection and standardization. PSU technical expertise for alternate sourcing recommendations
7. Coordinate PSU technology/roadmap meetings with PSU manufacturers for engineering, as requested
8. Drive PSU supplier development for ADVA performance and technology needs
9. Create and establish PSU Qualification Plan and Traceability; Coordinate qualifications and verifications with Development, NPI, and supplier quality Project
10. Support failure analysis for PSU commodity issues
11. Provide technical support for cost reductions and second sourcing for PSU commodity
12. Responsible for Supplier Technical Assessment during PSU supplier site audits.
13. Responsible to ensure Supplier adherence to implementing ADVA defined Quality processes and procedures including but not limited to; DFM, FMEA, MTBF, Gauge R&R, Cpk

Provide PSU technical training to others as needed.

Skills / Qualifications / Training / Experience:
1. Experience with PSU manufacturing &/or development
2. Formal Education Honors Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial/
3. The preferred candidate will have minimum of 5 years' experience as a Sourcing, Engineering or engineering professional and experience with PSU commodity
4. Understanding of European/USA culture and ways of doing business
5. Desire to accept responsibility and work independently to achieve goals
6. Must possess a high level of technical understanding to effectively manage engineered component sourcing strategies and facilitate early supplier involvement to leverage supply chain technical expertise
7. Willing to undertake Domestic and international travel where necessary
8. Broad and extensive supply chain experience, including sourcing of relevant raw and semi-finished materials and components, new product introduction (NPI), operations planning, factory management outsourcing, and manufacturing partnerships
9. High energy and passion for working in a dynamic environment and providing new approaches to strategic sourcing and supply base management
10. Team player with deep cross-group collaboration and project management skills, with experience developing efficient work plans for complex projects involving many groups, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
11. Ability to lead and impact/influence in cross-functional, global teams, including willingness to stand behind potentially unpopular decisions
12. Strong combination of business and technical knowledge base
13. Advanced analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities
14. Fine-tuned communications skills (both written and verbal) Fluent written and spoken English
15. Program or project management experience is highly desired
