Purpose of Position
To plan, organise, control and manage the assembly line team and any subcontractors to achieve planned production requirements for the Shock Absorber Assembly Line
Main Accountabilities
1. Manage, coach and support your team through regular feedback, sharing of information and developmental opportunities
2. Ensure you act responsibly and perform work duties in accordance with TJM’s Health and Safety standards
3. In conjunction with the Production Manager recruit new employees when needed to cope with increased production activities;
4. Manage any underperforming employees
5. Manage all assembly team scheduling, leave requests and overtime
6. Maintain effective communication with Assembly line team, management and key stakeholders;
7. Monitor quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all orders to ensure Supply Chain commitments are met
8. Communicate the production schedule with the Assembly Line Team
9. Support the Quality policy by ensuring Quality in everything that we do as per ISO9001:2008, TUV homologation, and Conformity of Production requirements.
10. Manage the planning and scheduling of people and equipment to reduce production bottlenecks and supply problems including the coordination and control of all jobs and/or work orders;
11. Coordinate and maintain the order entry standards and procedures for the Suspension Assembly line;
12. Ensure the Production Manager is aware of and approves all exceptional or extraordinary production jobs and specifications;
13. Develop, manage and maintain a workflow system that interfaces order entry, assembly, surface coating and final packaging of product assembled on the Shock Absorber Assembly line;
14. Provide regular information to the Production and Sourcing Managers in relation to delivery dates, schedules and any Operational inefficiencies
15. Inform the Production Manager of any equipment and production problems in a timely fashion;
16. Schedule, plan, conduct and record Daily Production Toolbox Meetings
17. Receive and purchase materials to ensure efficient production of product.
18. Support the Quality policy by ensuring ‘Quality in Everything that we Do’ as per ISO9001:2008;
19. Manage the team to implement and maintain Lean Manufacturing principles assisting the completion of all work orders with a minimum of waste and damage to equipment;
20. Schedule, delegate, and ensure performance of all equipment and services with regular maintenance activities;
21. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the building asset;
22. Advise the General Manager of TJMSZ or delegate on capital improvements needed to increase company productivity;
Experience, Qualifications & skills
1. Technical college or university certification is desirable
2. Previous supervisory experience of 10 or more employees in a similar role
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese Mandarin and/or Cantonese
4. Current operating knowledge of or ability to quickly understand the SAP business Enterprise system in particular MRP modules
5. Good mathematical skills
6. Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance
7. Excellent interpersonal skills
8. Sound understanding of Chinese automotive after market component manufacturing
9. Understanding of and subsequent application of lean practices in manufacturing
10. Preference for a working knowledge of operations including an automotive workflow system for suspension assembly
