The purposes of this position are:

The senior Mechanical designer has the responsibility to design, realize and test a system, module or component, conform to the departmental and project procedures and processes. The job entails responsibility for independently organizing (reciprocal) reviews of his/her design with colleagues, in addition to those with the Architect or the Senior Technology Specialist.
The Designer takes part in the reviews arranged by the Architect and accounts for his/her proposed approach. Functionary responds to directions from the Architect or Senior Technology Specialist. He/she guides and supervises less experienced colleagues, contractors and trainees.
Any potential failures to meet schedules, deliverables or budget are reported to the Project Leader and suggestions are made for avoiding overruns. For day-to-day professional problems he/she consults the Project Leader and colleague Designers. For complex technical problems he/she consults the more specialized Senior Designers and Senior Technology Specialists.
Next to general skills each professional Designer has built up a specialization in a certain domain, which can be a particular hardware/software technology or a product feature.
Key Areas of Responsibility：

ü Responsible for the design, realization and test of a system component or module; understands and communicates consequences of his/her design on the architecture.
- Designs on the basis of design specifications in accordance with the functional specifications.
- Ensures that there is proper documentation for the developed mechanical hardware (Technical Product Documentation).
- Combines newly developed, existing and/or purchased components.
- Solves PR’s and CR’s (Problem Reports and Change Requests).
- Draws up personal schedule and reports on progress.
- Performs work in line with the processes that have been agreed in the department.
- Responsible for input in the planning process.
- Responsible for organizing reviews with experts (including peer reviews).
- Constructive contribution to project team and department.
- Keeps abreast of technical developments in own field through study of the literature and technical contacts.
- Spot and communicate relevant funded work and other business opportunities.

Job Requirements & Skills

- Bachelor or Master Degree in mechanics or relative fields.
- 8 year experience in mechanical design (Hand-on).
- Practical experience on a parametric 3D modeling software system,
Preferably UG / Solidworks.
- Solid knowledge of the following manufacturing processes: rapid prototyping, casting (aluminium, plastic), injection moulding, metal stamping.
- Ability to develop products that will be produced on a large scale
- Skilled communicator, autonomous, demonstrated leadership and have a good sense of organization
- Analytical, creative, and abstract thinker with a good balance to application.
- Accurate and quality minded.
- Either Optical or Thermal know-how is a plus.
- Good English communication skill is a must for architect level.
