General Purpose of Job
Carrying our research and development activities and providing customer support in the areas of additives, primary focus will be in the area of polyurethane catalysts.
Prioritized Essential Functions and Responsibilities
With minimal supervision and much decision-making:
? 75% Conducting routing R & D activities
? 25% Visits customers to explore customer needs.
Other general responsibilities:
? Understand the science behind polyurethane catalyzation.
? Testing and development of new product application in polyurethane.
? Understand industry and customer requirements to identify opportunities for existing and new products into the market.
? Communicate results fully to the relevant stake holders.
? Technical Report writing.
? Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
? Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
? Understand that management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities of this job at any time.
Education and Experience
? A minimum of master degree in chemistry is preferable.
? Minimum of 4 years of work-related experience is preferable.
Specific Skills and Knowledge
? Knowledge of application process in polyurethane
? Knowledge of surfactant principle is a plus
? Knowledge of pigment applications is also a plus
? Knowledge of amines in industrial applications
? Ability to work as part of a diverse and high-energy team
? Ability to communicate and interact effectively both internal (globally) and external
? Ability to promote discussions with others, provide guidance, and make persuasive presentations
? Ability to identify and address critical quality, production, safety and environmental issues during the product development cycle
? Ability to self-manage and manage the team activities
? Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs

? Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during the course of employment.
? A significant level of innovative, creative thinking and application is critical for job success.
