POSITION SUMMARY
The focus is to implement global supply chain strategies; new product development to follow AML recommended suppliers and compliance with global pricing.
In order to accommodate such responsibility, the Buyer/Planners work load includes interactions with Global Supply Base Managers, NPI/R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing and Sustaining Engineering. This position success is dependent on individual being hands-on and manages by data. Key attribute is knowledge of using software tools such as excel and data base report writers.
Expected Contributions
? Meet Global goals and objectives.
? Work to implement advanced asset velocities techniques to insure supply assurance to support revenues. Such as Supply Managed Inventories, utilizing Oracle iSupplier portal.
? Assist in the integration of the processes and systems.
o Exhibit systems and metrics knowledge. Understand the databases and systems and how to use effectively across global sourcing and procurement teams.
? Responsible for accuracy of data and issues related to the supply base performance metrics.
? Responsible for data integrity relative to supplier, commodity codes, part numbers, forecasting and all relevant metrics.
? Identify gaps in direction vs. industry. Provide recommendations to address gaps.
? Include contingency plans and risk analysis.
? Drive for CONSOLIDATION of suppliers (including global consolidation plans and timelines).
? Drive for STANDARDIZATION where possible.
? Demonstrates "shop the world" mentality.
Focus on Total Cost of Ownership
? Escalation point for localized suppliers, gap/shortage management, global pricing implementation and meeting cost reduction targets for local suppliers.
? New sourcing projects to follow global AML.
? Point person to represent material supply with demand planning organization. Must support spare inventories.
? Drive global supply base consolidation analysis, planning and implementation.
? Responsible for resolution of purchase order discrepancies.
Cooperation with different product division
? Focal point and is responsible for driving the adoption of commodity strategies into the engineering's design and/or manufacturing objectives. Work closely with engineering and R&D management on defining or enhancing a product to transferring to manufacturing; follow global engineering solutions.
? Represent purchasing department in product group meeting
? Ensure cooperation with all other logistics departments
? Proactively share best practices across Supply Base Management and lead cross-team efforts to leverage
Hands-On Supplier Management:
Ensure that suppliers perform at a high level of excellence. Provide scorecard data for supply base. Individual will be key player in global QBR process. Metrics to measure:
? Delivery performance
? Quality
? Responsiveness
? Management
? Continuous improvement of all aspects.
Attributes
? Hands on with attention to details.
? Multi-task skills a must.
? People skills to interact with heterogenic team.
EXPERIENCED REQUIRED
? Experience in a similar position; must have 5 years work experience.
? Have a strong understanding of sourcing with Asian based suppliers and wide perception of global electronic component market.
? Extensive knowledge in advanced logistical systems (ERP, MRP), quality standards and shipping procedures.
? Oracle 11i and Agile PCM systems experience a plus.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE (Minimum)
? College degree a plus. Technical and or finance degree a plus.
