Job Responsibility

To monitor the development process of Product for Columbia Brand and Follow-up the development of Product Line Plan. Responsible for the design and development process from styling, fabric selection, and follow through in subsequent fitting sessions until pre-production sample stage by regularly communicate with National & Regional Product Team, Merchandising team, Sourcing Office of Principal and even Suppliers.

1) Product Development

a. Work with National Product Manager, Merchandising Manager to develop product directions and features for Apparel & Accessories.

b. Responsible for the overall Outdoor Design concepts and development process from styling, fabric selection, Design details, fitting, cutting, …etc.

2) Product Line Planning, handling and monitoring

a. Liaise with sourcing office and suppliers for Product details against Cost.

b. Communicate with sourcing office of principal and suppliers for handling Product Profile/Tech pack for production purpose.

Requirements

University Degree/Diploma in Textile & Clothing or Fashion Design related disciplines.

6 to 10 years solid experience in Design and Merchandising experience in Branded Outdoor Retail Company.

3) Good know-how & knowledge for Outdoor brands on garment making and sample integration

4) Able to manage new tasks and people, lead a small team of designers and coordinate with Product Team and Sourcing team of Principle. And responsible for overall development activities is a must.

Proactive, creative with technical experience, plus excellent sense of Outdoor fashion / market trends, materials, color, styles, cutting, fitting, etc.

Strong business acumen with excellent negotiation and presentation skills.

Experience in Product Line Planning & cost control & process integration.

8) Proficiency in using MAC software, Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDraw is a plus.

Frequent travel for China Market research and Product meeting.

Less experience will be considered as Senior Designer.
