GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

You are responsible for the design and development of innovative, high quality tooled and soft goods products. Strive to learn and adapt to emerging production processes continuously. Collaboratively, develop products through prototype and production. Work closely with the local and U.S. Design and Engineering team and other Industrial Designers, Product Managers, Sales and Marketing teams to meet product development objectives and timelines set under Belkin's standards. In addition, you would support marketing efforts by creating renderings and presentation images of products for sales presentation purposes.




SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Collaborate with team members to develop innovative products.

· Ensure proper communication with in-country and Corporate U.S. Headquarters team to achieve the business goals.

· Keeping abreast on the market intelligence, competition, industry to ensure optimal industrial design value is achieved.

· Adhere to the established budgets and timelines as set by the Design Manager.

· Maintain and evolve the Belkin brand through high quality industrial design.

· Develop products through conceptual sketching, 2D Renderings, 3D model studies and computer software.

· Concisely communicate with Engineering, Merchandisers, Developers and our suppliers and outsourced manufacturers to develop Belkin products to meet the standards.

· Support marketing efforts by creating renderings and presentation images of our products for sales presentations.

· Immersion in (2D &) 3D computer processes (Alias or other 3D software) & preparation of tech kits and preliminary documentation to create soft goods products for development in Asia.

· Travel to Belkin's Hong Kong offices and Belkin's manufacturers or other locations to meet business needs.

· Fulfill responsibilities under ISO 9001 and 14001; understand and fully support ISO system.

· Fulfill responsibilities under OHSAS 18001, understand and fully support OHSAS 18001 system.

· Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

· Understand and follow company rules and regulations.

· Perform all other duties as assigned and required.




EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:



· Degree in Industrial Design gained from reputable University or Tertiary Institution.

· A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in design, engineering and manufacturing of cut & sew and/or injection molded products.

· Experience working for a recognized global brand is a big plus.

· Excellent sketching and visual communication skills

· Solid proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office

· 3D CAD (Solidworks) experience is required

· Ability to create photo-realistic renderings using 3D software (i.e Hypershot)

· Fluency in both written and verbal English communication skills. Other Asian language is preferred, i.e. Chinese / Mandarin.
