POSITION

Reporting to the Senior Supplier Quality Assurance Manager, the Senior Engineer is the overall leading quality engineer to chair the NPI (New Product Introduction) process in SQA Team. He / she has to develop standard, quality tools, methods, processes to pursue continuous development of Belkin’s suppliers to assure on-going high product and process quality. This position develops, monitors and maintains Belkin quality processes across supply chain to assure continual 100% customer satisfaction.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

In conjunction with the Director of Supplier Quality Assurance; the Senior Engineer has to develop, execute and maintain comprehensive product and process quality plans for all Belkin’s Soft Goods products. He / she has to establish and maintain quality performance metrics and review processes that drives continuous improvement in business performance.

Essential responsibilities are:

· Partnering with Global Purchasing / Sourcing / Engineering / IDG Teams, participate in the selection and development of suppliers for Belkin.

· Participate in supply chain strategy development addressing overall supply chain performance, identification of improvement or new requirements, and execution of improvement plans.

· Partnering with Global QA Teams, prepare Supplier Manufacturing Quality Plans and provide comments regarding manufacturing, material / product testing, product safety and environmental aspects.

· Implement and monitor QA processes. Review documentation for the compliance to industrial quality standards. Ensure proper documentation and test plan are ready before mass production.

· Monitor First Article Sample (FAS) approval process. Verify corrective action plan before mass production.

· Champion and train suppliers on primary quality tools; SPC, Problem Solving, DFx, FMEA, etc. Improve outgoing quality by Statistic Process Analysis and Control

· Provide expert knowledge and data to Belkin technical staff to influence product, sub-assembly, and components designs based upon process and product quality data and trend information.

· Serve as manufacturing focal point for intelligent analysis of quality issues, determining true root cause and permanent corrective and preventive actions.

· Provide mentoring to less-senior engineers and inspectors within the Quality function.

· Perform Failure Analysis with Engineering Department and coordinate return/complaint resolution.

· Communicate with other team or/and external laboratory regarding new updated regulations and requirement for new items. Incorporate all new compliance into SQA’s general internal requirements.

EDUCATION

· B.S. degree required in material science / engineering discipline. Master’s degree a plus.

· Proficiency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of foreign language like Korean and Japanese is a plus.

EXPERIENCE

· Seven years’ experience in QA field with significant hands-on quality and manufacturing experience. Solid experience in material testing and manufacturability, consumer Electronics or equivalent.

· Solid analytical skills. Understand and able to generate quality metrics

· Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and good attitude in working with China factories, overseas customers and internal colleagues. Good command in English both writing and speaking

· Able to work independently under pressure and can accept multiple tasks simultaneously
