EHS Manager

Basic function
Plan, implement and oversee the safety, occupational health, environment programs in Nordson's Shanghai facility in compliance of corporate standards and the local government laws and regulation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure facilities' safety, health and environmental programs and practice meet corporate requirement and local government regulations.
2. Take initiatives to set up safety, health and environmental management systems and procedures for the facilities.
3. Provide consultation and recommendations concerning safety, health and environmental issues to functional groups and management team.
4. Maintain a current knowledge of safety, health and environmental legislation and keep abreast with changes through training.
5. Work out the fiscal year EHS budget.
6. Work closely with corporate EHS management and local management team to achieve company's safety objectives.
7. Plan, monitor, update and publish the safety metrics in accordance with the corporate requirement.
8. Lead and manage the facility's safety committee.
9. Lead and manage the facility's disaster recovery program and update it on a regular basis.
10. Design, implement and oversee the effective EHS inspection and tracking plan. Identify potential improvement opportunities in safety, health and environmental management and work proactively with functional groups to ensure day to day compliance.
11. Identify and lead continuous improvement projects in safety, health and environment.
12. Ensure manufacturing and facility equipment meet government and corporate requirements.
13. Plan and provide EHS training to facility employees to promote continuous improvement of safety, health and environmental standards.
14. Proactively participate in the new product development, product transfer, or plant relocation projects to ensure the full compliance of safety, health and environmental standards in manufacturing process or plant layout.
15. Maintain a good relationship with local governmental bodies.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor degree or above in technical field or business required. Safety or EHS certification is a plus.
2. Above 5 years experience in an EHS or safety management position within a multinational manufacturing organization in China.
3. Substantial experience in developing and implementing EHS or safety programs and management systems, conducting EHS audits and risk assessments, and interacting with functional groups and management.
4. Solid knowledge or understanding of safety or EHS related laws and regulations in China.
5. Strong leadership and inter personal communication skills.
6. Good and practical problem solving and analytical skills.
7. Able to work under pressure.
8. Proactive and self motivated.
9. Good command of English and able to make manager level presentation.
