EDUCATION / TRAINING

Degree:

College Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

Training:

3+ years’ product design experience in an engineering related field.

Qualifications:

l. 3+ years’ product design experience—Familiar with plastic injection molding, aluminum forging and metal machining process. Basic knowledge about heat-treating, surface finish is also required. Candidate with composite experience is highly preferred.

2. Excellent spoken English—Need to work closely with American Engineers and Managers who doesn’t speak Chinese. (Video conference, Face-to-Face meeting.)

3. Proficient 3D software skills—Solidworks is highly-preferred. Pro/e, UG and CATIA might be acceptable with enough proficiency.

4. Professional attitude, image, demeanor. Confidentiality

5. College degree in Material, Mechanic Engineering or equivalent;

6. Travel—willing to travel as necessary. (mostly travel within Pearl Delta, might need to travel internationally)

7. Competent with time management, deadlines, multiple projects and the ability to handle frequent interruptions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work with Product Manager, Project Manager, ID Engineer and Peer Engineers to create complete product design package which should include 3D, 2D, Design Checklist, Test Plan, DFMEA, etc.

2. Review design with peer engineers and suppliers, make necessary changes in designs to meet product parameters in an optimized manner.

3. Visit suppliers to follow up product development process and provide clear directions on-spot.

4. Assist with resolving the manufacturing and warranty issues from Design Engineer perspective.

5. Serves as a technical resource to other departments and functional areas as follows:

• Product, in-house application design.
• Technical Support - training, and advanced trouble shooting including quick response to customer complaints and technical support issues.
• Internal use of systems (CAD, ePDM, Enovia, and other computer applications).

6 Communicates with Product group and Marketing as to features and functions of new projects.

7 Schedules work to meet completion dates and records, and analyze test data.
