Summary

Leader of the China Corporate Finance organization that includes accounting, tax, internal controls and statutory compliance. Activities include directing budget and cost controls, performing financial analysis, implementing internal controls, as well as ensuring accounting, regulatory, ethical and legal compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leads Corporate and Division Strategic Projects in China.

Leads / Co-ordinates issues resolution across divisions in a matrix organization.

Leads finance support and risk control improvements.

Works with corporate tax group on desirable operational and project structure to achieve optimal tax savings.

Lead M&A projects, new entities set-up and statutory compliance projects in China

Drives process improvements throughout the organization to improve productivity.

Collaborates with Shared Service Centre (“SSC”) Controller in rolling out SSC projects in China.

Provides guidance on interpretation and application of company policies.

Co-ordinates compliance with all Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements.

Establishes or recommends to management major corporate economic strategies, objectives and policies for the Company.

Leads / Co-ordinates the preparation of corporate budgets, reviews budget proposals and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.

Reviews actual performance against budget and recommends corrective actions.

Liaises with external auditors and statutory authorities to ensure compliance with local accounting requirements and filing deadlines.

Coordinates with plant and division controllers in China to ensure compliance of statutory and tax filing deadlines.

Provides leadership to the plant, division and SSC finance teams in China.

Leads and develops team members for succession planning and career development.

Organisation structure

Reports to the APME Corporate Finance Director.

Leads a team of accounting professionals based in Beijing.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 15 – 20 years accounting experience including at least 5 years experiences in Big Four Accounting firms.

Familiarity with the China Statutory and Tax structure and practices.

Previous experience working in a US multi-national company and manufacturing environment is a plus.

Qualifications

CPA preferred

Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office Software and HFM.
