Purpose of role:
One or two sentences at the most, stating why the job exists in the organisation and what it is there to achieve.
The role is to support the delivery of Air BP’s technical and operation agenda for the Asia PU, including product quality, HSSE and operations. Initial focus will be in product quality.
The role is to be responsible for technical and operations reporting and database management for Asia PU.
Key Results/ Accountabilities expected from role (not more than 5)
1. Provide support to Asia product quality authority on product quality issues in the way of
Assisting to manager for 5 JVs which is including 42 operation sites, TSA customers, core supply terminal, as well as CSA sites in Asia.
Assisting in the quality assurance activities of Singapore Changi International Airport such as regular coordinating with third-party lab, terminal and site visit including lab, terminal, providing analysis and input based on the lab testing result.
Reviewing product quality documents and monthly report to ensure conformance with relevant specifications and procedure. Interface with China JVs to resolve product quality issues.
Participating supply resources audit such as refinery and terminal related to jet fuel in Asia; reporting and follow-up actions within the agreed time schedule as and when required.
Participating third party lab audit related to jet fuel in Asia, which bp will sign or has signed contract with.
Assisting supply Chain risk assessment in Asia.
Assisting in the implementation of microbiologic monitoring in JVs and core terminal in Asia
Managing regular product quality database and reporting according to global guideline
2. Contribute to the delivery of Air BP Asia HSSE, Technical and Operations annual agenda e.g. support China TSA (Technical Service Agreement) delivery such as trainings and site inspections.
3. SPA to prepare and submit various reports related to HSSE, product quality, and operations, and to manage data base in a timely, and systematic manner according to Air BP guidelines.
4. Manage the trackers of the close-out of actions from annual plan of technical & operations team, safety visits or other leadership interventions.
5. Key challenges faced on the role (In relation to section 4 above)
A key challenge is to successfully influence China JV to adopt PQ and HSE expectations to reflect those consistent with Air BP expectations.
Building a suitable level of capability to directly manage BP PQ and HSE issues will be an important aspect of this role to support longer term biz strategies of Air BP China.
Develop the role more broadly to other “technical” aspects such as HSE and Operations areas as this will assist deployment of resources in the team.
6. Experience & Expertise (Typical educational qualification & experience)
Educational background
Bachelor degree and above, major in chemical engineering or chemistry
Experience (years and nature)
At least 2-3 years of working experience in the area of HSSE, chemical engineering, product quality testing in the energy industry, experience in aviation fuel industry will be a plus
Knowledge of petroleum fuels manufacture, distribution and use in engines is considered essential.
Knowledge of laboratory testing and test methods is essential
Operations and HSSE experience will be an additional advantage.
