Role Synopsis

The Cars Engineer will be accountable for conducting rig and engine dynamometer testing to determine the performance of lubricants and fuels. The Engineer will work for the Senior Engineer to develop and deliver against agreed key customer milestones. The role requires extensive interaction with a range of stakeholders specifically product development and customer facing technology teams.

Specifically this role supports the development and operation of unique tests in support of:

Product development

Product performance demonstration

Providing the engineering solutions and information that facilitates the differentiation of our products.

Key Accountabilities

Conducting engine tests either to standard specifications or for differentiation testing at the CTC and 3rd party facilities.

Supervising test bed installations and ensuring they are carried out to safety and quality standards at our 3rd party facility

Liaise with the technicians to ensure the agreed project work is clearly communicated to facilitate milestone delivery.

Acquisition and analysis of data

Report writing and presentation of results

Capable of co coordinating project management tasks and leading project time lines

Essential Education

Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline

Essential Experience and Job Requirements

Experience

Knowledge of the installation and operation of test engines.

Experience of engine test control systems.

Experience of data acquisition and analysis of data.

Knowledge of gasoline and diesel combustion processes.

Knowledge of diesel and gasoline fuel delivery systems and operating strategies.

Experience of writing technical reports..
