Description
In this newly created job, the General Ledger Accountant will be located in the Shanghai shared service center and responsible for performing the general ledger accounting activities of various U.S. legal entities. The general ledger activities are expected to include reconciling balance sheet accounts for each entity (including prepayments, current assets, other liabilities, long term liabilities, intercom any, other comprehensive income, and select tax accounts), as well as performing fixed assets ledger maintenance. Coordination with the Milpitas accounting team will be required.
Requirements:
? Perform general accounting functions and activities for remote processing which include Account Reconciliations, Journal entries and analysis.
? Intercom any Reconciliations and Foreign Exchange monitoring.
? Work closely with US based finance teams to ensure coordination of monthly/quarterly closing process and ensure that the all global reconciliations are performed every month.
? Support Internal Audit and external auditors
? Ensure overall compliance with global SOX processes.
? Experience in shared service environments supporting both U.S. and other no local entities is preferred.
General Competencies
Perform general accounting functions and activities pursuant to established procedures and policies to ensure the accurate compilation, analysis & reporting of accounting data. Work with other team members and departments to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Education / Years Experience
? BS/BA degree or equivalent Accounting Certification with minimum of plus years of related experience required. Previous experience in a General Ledger Accountant or similar role desirable.
? Intermediate to Advanced level of competency in SAP is required.
? The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment preferably with previous experience within an International or Multinational organization. Motivated, and results oriented creative thinker with excellent planning, and problem solving skills to work in a limited resource environment.
? Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of divisional / business unit strategic Objectives & Goals, with disciplined Month-end Closing & Reporting experience. Experience working within both Local & International teams.
? Excellent organizational and communication skills – both written and verbal. Must have strong English language speaking and writing skills. As is a US multinational corporation, all policies, procedures and global communication (including email) is in English.
? Understanding of US GAAP is preferred.
