Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the O&E department to ensure accurate product costing and maintenance of direct labor standards. Conducts detailed cost analyses and presents findings as required for quotations, competitive cost comparisons, target pricing, and cost modeling for strategic decision making. Assists with the development of labor, material, and overhead standards as required.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the APAC Costing department staff which is responsible for calculations for maintaining and approving direct labor standards and product costing (both for quotations and for development projects).
- Ensures that all subcontractors Not only subcon,also supplier cost that's why we like to keep"cost" only.costs are documented, analyzed, and advises Purchasing of issues or improvement opportunities.
- Assists Purchasing department by developing target prices and to aid in negotiations as needed.
- Acts as a liaison with F&A to ensure accurate costs are maintained and to answer questions as needed.
- Develops cost comparisons and conducts cost modeling and monitor the deployment.
- Coordinates and regularly presents competitive product comparisons to include a cost analysis, feature comparison, and material evaluation, to relevant departments, local MT and BU management. (not so sure)
- Develop and Maintains library of process flow maps by ensuring process flow maps are approved by the relevant process head and conform to requirements prior to publishing.
- Remains knowledgeable of government policies, international trade issues, or other issues that may affect production costs and informs relevant departments.
- Assists in approving labor standards.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor degree required or equivalent work experience, preferably in Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years management experience.
- Minimum of 5 years consumer electronic industry experience with in-depth knowledge of product construction.
- Must be exceptionally detailed orientated and extremely inquisitive with a desire to understand underlying costs.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an understanding of standard cost accounting and a demonstrated ability to evaluate problems using applied mathematics.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills including presentation skills. Fluent in English.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and remain organized.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Visio.
- National and international travel required (20%-30%)
