Magazine

High quality, bilingual Magazine (EN, CN) published at least 4 times a year by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in China. The supplements are published twice a year.

Magazine Readership

· Managers and employees of Swiss companies in China as well as management of Swiss companies in Switzerland with an interest in China

· Chinese Government officials and Swiss VIPs (incl. government) with an interest in China

Type of Employment

Full time contract including profit sharing based incentive. Contract duration to be discussed.

Reporting Line

To the Executive Director (hereafter ExD) directly

Responsibilities

Under the leadership of the ExD, with the support of the Editorial Board, manage “The Bridge” magazine and supplements in all its aspects towards costs (Budget, Actual and P&L), schedule and quality. This includes:

1. Content development: Create annual plans for the Bridge content and develop concepts (short- and long-term), theme & topics for each edition under the supervision of the editorial board; liaise with and integrate other regional branches (Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong) in China as well as related organizations (such as the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Switzerland).

2. Editing: Ensure quality, tone and style of contents meeting the target/expectations of the Employer, as well as accuracy of language (both English & Chinese). Work closely with the designers and being responsible for the layout.

3. Distribution: Responsible of the whole publication process to ensure timely delivery of each issue to the distribution list per planned schedule. Work closely with the printing company and the logistics partners.

4. Advertisement: Responsible of the financial success of “The Bridge” and its supplements and to meet the budget requirements. Be cost-effective and revenue driven. Work closely with the office team and other regional branches to acquire advertisers.

5. Guidelines & Procedures: Follow the guidelines, procedures and processes developed and approved by the Employer, including in terms of production scheduling and Editorial Board scheduling and preparation.

6. Distribution: Responsible to further develop and grow the Bridge’s distribution and readership.

Internal Resource and Support

· Support for concept and network from the Editorial Board and rest of the Board

· Execution support from the ExD and the SwissCham China office

Requirements

· At least 2 - 3 years working experience in journalism

· University degree

· Excellent written and oral skills in English (knowledge in Chinese, German & French is an asset).

· Service oriented with positive working attitude and professional behavior, pro-active, result oriented.

· Self-disciplined, able to handle deadlines

· Team player, flexible, innovative, honest and hard working

· Organized multi-tasker and able to handle pressure

· Good time-management skills

· Excellent editorial skills

· Knowledge in database management & customer relationship management is an advantage.
