Main Responsibility:
1.SOURCING ACTIVITY - Working with the Senior Supplier Development Engineer, the Product Development Manager, and others, identifies suppliers in Asia that are capable of providing superior quality products at competitive costs. Uses a variety of tools and methods to identify new suppliers that meet these requirements. Assists Southco internal customers in routing components and assemblies required by new business opportunities to the appropriate supplier in Asia. Processes requests for quotation and provides feedback to internal Southco personnel on quotation progress and value.

2.PURCHASING & PROCUREMENT - After working with Asia Engineering, Operations and Asia suppliers on quotation, price, delivery, quality, lead time, inventory, and overall supplier relationship, processes purchase orders to procure material as needed. Follows Global Work Instructions related to purchasing/procurement and develops (with assistance from Corp.) local work instructions.
3.SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT - Supports supplier development activities in Asia. Works very closely with the Senior Supplier Development Engineer and provides relevant information as to best practices available from suppliers in the Asian supply base.
Requirement:
1. University degree in an engineering or quality-related discipline.
2. Over 5 years experience with supplier development or supplier quality assurance. Expert in 1st tier automotive supplier quality requirements (PPAP, APQP, SPC, 8D).
3. A clear and practical understanding of the use of quality improvement methodology such as SPC, Six Sigma, Poka-yoke, lean manufacturing etc.
4. Fluent in English and a second language preferred.
