Job Description - Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE)

The QE would have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Independent Ability on Trouble shooting. Follow 8D method to identify the root cause, drive suppliers timely provide a valuable analysis and complete a corrective action, and verify if these corrective actions are effective in following shipment.
• Master PPAP knowledge and can independent audit at the factory to identify if the proper processes are in place, find out the process weakness, push supplier continuous improvement.
• Assist with engineering team to perform new product qualification.
• Assist with engineering team to do Hardware and Software Verification Test Plans and testing for New Product.
• Assist with engineering team to evaluate new designs to identify quality improvements. Works toward UL, FCC and other regulatory certifications where needed.
• Develops and implements quality assurance standards, processes, procedures, and controls.
• Develops methods for in-process audit, inspection, testing, sampling, and training.
• Conduct first article inspection, analysis and qualification, line audit according to the Control Plan.
• Evaluates manufacturing and field defect data, performs statistical analysis, and drives analysis for root cause and corrective action.
• Proactively identify & lead change initiatives to drive for continuous improvement of product quality, effective problem resolution, product warranty and preventive initiatives.
• Monitor key supplier performance, such as quality and on-time delivery, and to provide periodic feedback to management & supplier.
• Strength frequent communications with suppliers and to ensure quality expectations of Audiovox are duly communicated.

The requirements of QE are as following:

• The position requires a 4 years degree and above 5 years of relevant experience
• Preference given to degrees in electronic engineering.
• Preference given to the knowledge and experience in Automotive product.
• Experience with electronics manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Education and/or experience with reliability engineering.
• Education and/or experience with supplier qualification, supplier audits, and supplier report cards.
• As well as knowledge and experience in electronics, plastics, sheet metal, mechanical components and manufacturing processes including printed circuit board (PCB), assembly, solder, and test.
