General Position Summary:

Responsible for managing and providing oversight for all Purchasing activities.

Authority Statement:

P.O. signature authority

Primary Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Purchases high dollar strategic items for production.
Support engineering and other areas requiring market knowledge.
Builds and maintains customer/supplier relationships.
Monitor and minimize customer material liabilities.
Build and maintains productive company / supplier relationships.
Promote purchasing department goals and philosophies.
Initiate new programs or concepts.
Maintains competitive pricing on all materials, supplies and services purchased.
Minimizes inventory while maintaining adequate material level to meet production plans.
Establish and maintains long-term relationships with key suppliers.
Benchmarks the Purchasing department with other companies to improve efficiencies.
Reviews and approves purchase commitments of buyers.
Purchases or negotiates contracts for high-level goods and services.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Responsible for the full range of Supervisory activities in the department.

Specific Job Skills:

Strong communication skills in English
Strong multi-tasking, organization, attention to detail and follow-up skills.
Knowledge of procurement practices, terms, negotiation concepts, and business law.
General financial and analytical skills.
Strong PC skills, spreadsheets, file transfers and data manipulation.

Education and/or Experience:

College education or equivalent and a minimum of 3years related manager experience
