Senior Program Manager, Social and Environmental Accountability (SEA)

This position is directly responsible for developing and managing a risk-based social and environmental accountability program for Microsoft’s hardware supply chain. This role provides a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of thousands.
Responsibilities:
- Lead risk assessment process and execution in collaboration with internal team and key stakeholders
- Participate in development of strategy relating to strengthening the social responsibility capabilities of the supply chain
- Implement and manage key stakeholder relationships (with support of U.S. team) to provide business insight on risk management, corrective actions and worker living conditions
- Effect change by assisting business management in developing appropriate action plans to address identified deficiencies, and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner to effectively address the issues
- Collaborate with Sourcing and Factory Management teams to determine effective risk mitigation sourcing strategies
- Communicate trends in risk and control issues to executive management on the results of ongoing reviews
- Raise the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) technical knowledge of the group through on the job training and continuous professional development
Candidate requirements:
- 10+ years of demonstrated work experience in social responsibility field that includes progressive and diversified industry experience
- Strong EHS background with demonstrated ability to assess EHS risk and drive practical corrective actions
- A high level of enthusiasm, creativity, self-motivation, resourcefulness and drive for results in a fast-past environment
- Strong leadership skills and the proven ability to drive change in a challenging environment
- Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin
- Excellent cross-boundary collaboration skills
- A BS/BA degree required, MS preferred
- Proven program management skills, with a track record of effectively managing a program in an empowered, and changing environment
- Proven leadership and management skills with demonstrated skills in building strong, effective and self-directed teams
- Ability to travel 40-50%

- MS, MBA or Advanced degree
