Job Purpose:

Be responsible for sourced product inspection and supplier quality management to ensure all our products meet and exceed customer requirements. Drive quality system improvement.

Responsible for:

Customer Satisfaction Coordination

Work effectively with sourced suppliers to ensure consistent product quality that meets specified and contracted requirements.

Periodically examine samples sent from customers in the United States from field sales personnel and assist in providing feedback on issues.

Partner with key Company personnel in maintaining effective business relationships and partnerships with sourced suppliers.

Quality Systems Management, Inspection and Administration

Manage supplier ongoing quality performance by:

Carrying out product audit and container inspections at sourced suppliers in Asia, as well as supporting corporate Quality Assurance in the assessment of supplier quality systems based on established requirement
Periodically auditing supplier quality systems performance to ensure integrity of quality systems (management of standards, effectiveness of supplier final product inspection procedures, conformance of product performance based on contracted specifications, etc.)
Monitor claims performance for each supplier and engage suppliers to develop and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Collaborate with Asia Quality Manager in assessing supplier quality performance, and in determining corrective actions.
Assist the development and qualification of new suppliers by:
Auditing supplier quality systems and following up on implementation of effective corrective actions.
Developing and approving product quality standards.
Assisting suppliers in the qualification of floor products to specified requirements.
Review of specified requirements and assessing supplier capability to meet specified requirements.
Performing first article inspections.
Manage and/or perform supplier warehouse product audits as required. Develop and implement statistically based sampling plans to address specific issues as they arise.
Use quality tools such as capability studies, histograms and Pareto charts to analyze and report supplier quality performance.
Clearly and completely document in written form status, progress and plans with AFP Quality Assurance. Maintain accurate and complete records and reporting on supplier performance. Effectively and routinely report on supplier performance.
Quality Systems Training/Facilitator
Assist in facilitating the communication of technical and quality systems expertise to sourced suppliers and Sourcing Operations on product nonconformance and claims issues. Support suppliers in developing solutions to product quality problems using appropriate quality tools such as ISO, statistical process control, etc.

Develop and provide standard quality reports as requested. Regularly analyze and interpret data, and report findings to the corporate Quality Assurance Manager.

Organizational Relationships:

This position requires strategic working relationships with key management / owners of sourced suppliers, vendors to sourced suppliers, third party inspection service representatives, Company Sourcing Operations Management, Company Logistics, Company Product Management and corporate Quality Assurance. This position reports to AFP Asia Quality Manager.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science and Engineering
+6 years working experiences in manufacturing environment,

Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience within a manufacturing setting is valued.

Have experience in flooring business is value added.

Understanding of quality and process improvement tools & principles (SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, etc.) is plus.

Experience with quality management system (ISO 9001) is plus.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

Can read and write product inspection standard in English.

Have good communication skill among multiple departments

Capable of computer application for data collection, analysis and reporting, etc.

Smooth oral English is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Willing to travel frequently (position requires more than 60% travel)
