Responsibilities

- Focused on the client engineering requirements.

- Works closely with projects engineer and mechanical/electronic engineers on tooling designs required for product specifications

- Design and source tooling solutions from part design through to production.

- Cost estimation for new Tools

- Tool review & Approval for new projects

- Works with various plastics and sheet metal processes.

- Co-ordinate all tooling issues as required with specialised factories.

- Coordinating with colleagues in tooling receiving regions to ensure timely tooling repairing and maintenance

- Visit Tooling vendors onsite & monitor the Tooling progress

- Qualify Moulds for mass production & monitor the quality

- Support daily Mould issues and improvements

- Work out the cost reduction & Tooling optimization (price, quality, cycle time, machine tonnage, runner etc.)

- Working as bridge to communicate between regions and tool makers.

ü To review tooling projects in regular conference call in English with colleagues from regions

ü Identifying, evaluating and developing good plastic injection tooling maker to support tooling sourcing activities.

- Regular travel is required.

ü Quality:

- The Quality Management System is to be adhered to

- Where practical ideas on areas for improvement are to be proposed to the Management

- Assist in carrying out Internal Audits as required

Qualifications

- Bachelor or master degree in tooling or mechanical engineering

- Minimum five years' hands-on experience in plastic/metal tooling design and making for a well-known company

- Knowledge of ISO 9000/ QS 9000 quality system, SPC, TQC, six sigma, Cpk.

- Familiar with CAD softwares like Pro/e, Auto CAD, UG etc.

- Detailed-oriented, hard-working and with high integrity and can-do attitude.

- Excellent team player and with good interpersonal skill

- Computer literacy

- Good Communication Skills, both English and Chinese;

- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively with teammates

- Able to work effectively in a multiple project environment;

- Able to work in a fast paced environment where priorities can change at short notice.
