Responsibilities:
1. Conduct should-cost studies to establish appropriate target development costs, unit pricing, tooling costs, and product-specific investments by aPriori when required. Assess an appropriate figure to guide negotiations or to compare with figures provided by suppliers.
2. Develop sourcing strategic plan to ensure the lowest total cost supplier is selected for each part. This includes managing RFQ process and supplier selection for key components. Supplier decisions will be reviewed with respective commodity manager as appropriate.
3. Initiate cost engineering workshops at suppliers together with Purchasing, present suppliers with calculated cost models as a basis for further cost reduction potential.
4. Responsible for continuously tracking the cost of materials for each project, showing the total cost of all components vs budget as well as identifying opportunities to minimize supplier costs where possible.
5. Responsible for ensuring that all parts are received by Weber in a timely manner. This includes ensuring drawings / specs are issued to suppliers in a timeframe allowing for tool construction, samples available for qualification testing and all pilot / first production run parts are on time.
6. Facilitate early supplier involvement in part design process to ensure lowest total cost parts that suppliers are capable of manufacturing in a consistent manner.
7. Maintain best practice and material database to share across all programs.
8. Lead corporate supplier risk reduction program, including identification of highest risk suppliers / components and development and execution of appropriate mitigation actions.
9. Identify competitive supply base for assigned commodities.
10. Follow up enquiries, price negotiation, and quality complaints with vendor and internal customers.
11. Follow up with vendors for production purchase order, production plan, shipment delivery planning, and inventory control.
12. Any other duties may be instructed to carry out by the company from time to time that are reasonably within the scope of the job position and work capabilities.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related, engineering is preferred.
2. Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with a proven record of building relationships, influencing others, and collaborating cross-functionally.
3. Minimum 5 years’ experience in purchasing or product development at a high volume and consumer products company. Global sourcing experience is preferred.
4. Adaptable and flexible with the ability to work well under pressure and in challenging situations.
5. Good accessory experience is preferred.
6. Good SAP skills are preferred.
7. Excellent command of spoken and written in English and Chinese.
8. Frequent travel will be required.
