Position Description:
Microsoft Asia Center for Hardware (MACH) is a fast growing organization that is an extension of Microsoft hardware, a world leader in design, development and manufacturing of computer peripherals, Xbox Gaming and Zune music devices. MACH is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to lead its hardware design activities.


Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Electrical Engineeing, HW design and development from idea to final product

JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Candidate must be well prepared to innovate and lead hardware design efforts, cooperate within and across groups and functions. Ideal candidate must demonstrate strong ownership and accountability, has excellent HW and FW design skills, enjoys learning, can effectively bring solutions to difficult problems, and has great attention to details. Key responsibilities/requirements include
- Propose & define product system architecture, ensure that designs meet established specifications, cost, timeline and development budgets. Can independently propose HW and FW solutions that meet challenting product user experience requirements.
- Has strong HW and FW design and debugging skills. Can independently implement new HW dand FW esigns from ground up, including component selection, schematic design, layout, DFX, protocol definition, FW architecture and FW implementation. Ensure that the designs is optimal implementation that meets all design constraints. Ensure that the design is robust and meets all MS internal and industrial requirements.
- Has strong root causing and analyzing skills. Able to effectively find ways to reproduce difficult problems, root cause and then find solutions.
- Has strong passion to provide best user experience from design. Has strong passion to come up with and prototype new ideas for best user experience.
- Can implement or direct other engineers to develop embedded FW
- Write design documents and conduct design reviews
- Manage project scope and risks.
- Manage internal and outsourced development efforts.
- Collaborate with marketing, UX and technology teams and participate in project reviews.
