Job Description

1. Commodity Strategy
# Develop commodity strategy for the given commodity portfolio
# Execute commodity strategy through cross-functional team
# Review commodity strategy implementation on a regular basis
# Implement part-level multi-sourcing per established criteria
2. Supplier Management
# Manage the overall supplier relationship
# Source new suppliers per a given commodity strategy
# Manage the introduction and qualification of a new supplier
# Coordinate any corrective actions
# Perform regular supplier performance evaluation & feedback
# Conduct quarterly business review (QBR) with selected supply base
# Develop and implement continuous improvement with supply base
3. Cost / Price
# Obtain best cost for a given commodity from the supply base
# Establish annual cost reduction targets and conduct negotiations
# Perform cost/price analysis for selected commodities
# Maintain benchmark (industry & Neo's competitors) for selected commodities
4. Continuity of Supply
# Manage overall business demands and forecast to supply base
# Manage overall supply capacity (tooling & overall)
# Manage supply lead time and flexibility
# Act as escalation point for delivery issue resolution
5. Market Intelligence
# Perform market intelligence (supplier industry and Neo's competitor) on regular basis
6. Risk Management
# Assess overall supply chain risk of the portfolio
# Implement risk mitigation plan as needed
# Perform supplier-level risk analysis on regular basis
7. Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) & Innovation
# Perform strengths and weaknesses analysis between supply base and NeoPhotonics
# Bring suppliers into Neo's design loop for areas Neo needs external expertise
# Identify supplier innovation and recommend to R&D
8.Change & Project Management
# Plan all identified changes and projects thoroughly
# Execute all identified changes and projects through cross-functional team
9.Quality
# Assist SQE in supplier quality management and improvement
# Participate in quality issue resolution
# Assist SQE in Rohs compliance management

Person Specification

1. Minimum bachelor degree in mechanical
2. MBA, C.P.M., CPIM, etc. is a plus
3. 5+ years of professional strategic procurement experiences in the IT/electronics/optical industry
4. Deep knowledge in mechanical
5. Self-sufficient with minimum supervision
6. Excellent communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking & listening)
