Commitment Description:

GORE's Electronic Products team is seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer who will focus on providing application support and enable sales growth at existing and new customers. The primary focus will be wire and cable used in the Asia-Pacific Aerospace Market, with an emphasis on customers and applications in China and Japan. The dynamic role of an Applications Engineer at GORE involves using engineering/technical skills to work directly with our customers in order to evaluate their needs and identify Gore solutions. You will apply existing product concepts, validated technologies, and designs to provide an appropriate product form for the customers' application. You may also support project teams on new product concepts with customer input and field evaluation. Specifically, the successful candidate will use their knowledge & skills associated with data transmission & interconnect technology.

Responsibilities include:

• Understanding and developing application requirements based on customer, end user, and regulatory needs for the intended end use.
• Verifying and validating product design/construction based on the integration and use of the product.
• Driving product form-related design, prototyping, and proposal activities for existing product concepts.
• Leveraging customer and market access as a key member of account and product teams.
• You will also be involved with technical assessments, product testing, and project management. You will partner with the product team to analyze the competitive alternatives and assess Gore's product position and value proposition. The role will also provide an opportunity to contribute to the business and strategic planning process.

Requirements:

• BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Desirable - Experience in Aerospace industry, specifically with wire and cable applications.
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Preferably 3+ years successful experience as an applications engineer, product engineer, or manufacturing engineer with the responsibility of working directly with customers
• An interest in both technical and business activities - with potential growth along the product management "track".
• Preferably experience in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (verbal and written fluency in English required)
• Proven track record of prioritizing, problem solving, organizational skills and having strong analytical expertise
• Proven track record in project management and product commercialization involving numerous functional areas.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% - 50%
