Job Responsibilities:

? Teach robotics and engineering courses

? Coach and train robot teams for the annual FRC & VEX robotics competition

? Familiar with 3D printers, laser cutting machines, metal bench drills, metal cutting machines, electric drills and other mechanical equipment, capable of daily maintenance and training for students

? Familiar with the Arduino platform

? Perform routine laboratory maintenance, purchase laboratory equipment, management and storage

? Act as a student club mentor to guide their daily activities

? Familiar with design thinking process, be able to inspire students' creative ability, critical thinking ability and problem solving ability in teaching

Qualifications

? Bachelor’s degree in in Physics, Engineering, Robotics, or CS, and master’s or overseas related background is preferred.

? English proficiency, experience in teaching IB, AP, A-levels and/or IGCSE programs preferred;

? Be proficient in C, Java or Python. Relevant project experience is a plus.

Vanke Meisha Academy (VMA) is an international school jointly established by Vanke Education Development Fund and Shenzhen Middle School (SMS) in 2015. VMA and SMS are working collaboratively on developing academic curriculum, teaching research and extracurricular activities as well as sharing teacher resources. VMA is authorized as a degree-granting secondary institution by the Shenzhen Education Bureau, and it ranks No.3 in Shenzhen on the list of “Hurun Education Top International Schools in China 2017”. In May 2018, VMA was fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The school is backed by mountains and the teaching building is designed by Steven Holl, an American contemporary architect, which is accredited by Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), the world’s highest certification for green buildings. It is also the first urban complex project in China to receive this certification. VMA students aim to go abroad for further education after high school.

VMA teacher to student ratio is 1:7. The teachers have an average teaching experience of 9 years, and over 60% of the faculty holds Master’s degrees or above. In addition, there are 42 foreign teachers from eight countries including United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Sweden and etc., which takes up 43% of the faculty members.

VMA is building a unique international curriculum integrating the College Board Advanced Placement (AP) program and the Chinese national curriculum with Cambridge Assessment International Education, moving toward the International Baccalaureate.

VMA focuses on cultivating students’ academic ability and research ability, as well as advocating Project-Based Learning. We adopt a “student-centered” teaching approach, with 20-25 students in a small class.

In addition to academic courses and competitions, VMA also develops students’ core capabilities such as imagination, creativity, leadership and communication skills through social practice, community service, sport competitions, traditional cultural activities, and artistic performances. It is expected to help students achieve all-round development and become truly competitive.
