The Motor Drives and Robotics sector is an important part of TI’s Industrial focus and a key growth area. We are looking for system architects and design engineers who have experience in designing various electronic/semiconductor subsystems of Motor Drives and Robotics applications with particular expertise in one of the following disciplines: power stage design on 3 phase inverters including current and voltage sensing feedback techniques; communication interfaces for fieldbus and encoder. Knowledgeable in incremental and absolute encoder interface standards, as well as industrial fieldbus standards based on RS485 and Industrial Ethernet is a plus as well as basic understanding of functional safety in drives is a strong plus.

Responsibilities may include:

- Analyze key end-equipment in Motor Drives and Robotics to identify future trends, identifying opportunities for improving performance and adding value to these systems

- Be the company technical expert for that targeted applications

- Define and implement hardware subsystem architectures

- Design, circuit simulation/verification, testing, documentation of solutions based on customer design challenges

- Field applications support and customer technical workshops specific to Motor Drives and Robotics sub-systems

- Support with definition of successful new products at TI, that enable us to win at the system level

- Build relationships with customers/field teams by closely interacting with them to identify and solve customers’ design

challenges with TI silicon

- Develop reference designs, application notes, white papers, articles/blogs, presentations to showcase TI solutions to customer design challenges.

Minimum requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

- Candidates with no more than 2-year working experience and fresh out are both acceptable

- Specific semiconductor knowledge includes architecture/design of subsystems for power stages or communication

interfaces for fieldbus and encoder in Servo Drives and AC Inverters

- Fundamentals of electronic measurement, instrumentation and design

- Strong analytical skills in subsystem hardware design, verification, and validation

- Schematic design and simulation of reference subsystems

- PCB layout, signal integrity with simulation (if necessary), design for manufacturability

- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin

- International travel is occasionally required to support TI’s worldwide customers and to work with regional development

centers.
